A Different World. (Tails x Human!Reader)

Chapter 4

As your falling you saw a bright purple light at the bottom. You look up to see nothing up darkness. You look down as you close your eyes awaiting for impact while your heart beats faster. The wind hitting you stops as you feel something grab your hands. You look up seeing the yellow two-tailed mobian looking down back at you. You hear him sigh in relief as your feet touch the ground. He lets go of your hands and gives you a tight hug.

You blush as you did not expect the hug. Your heart beats faster as you put your arms around him hugging him back. Releasing from the hug Tails looks at you. "Y/N! I'm sorry I-I didn't know that was going to happen! I-" You cut him off. "T-Tails it's ok I'm fine thanks to you!" You reassure him. He blushes a little. You hear ambient sound that causes you to turn your head to see it. The emerald. "There it is!" Tails exclaimed. You both walk up to it. You can feel emerald pulsing. "Would you like to grab it?" Tails asked. "Sure but.. how?" You question.

"Just put your hand out, and the emerald should appears there." Tails said. With a little hesitation you extend your arm toward the emerald with your hand open. A bright beam extends from the emerald. The beam flows to your hand stopping on the surface. The emerald disappears and reappears in your hand. The beam disappears as you close your hand as the emerald sits in your hand. "Nice job Y/N! Now let's get back to sonic." Tails said while smiling. "I don't think you'll be going anywhere." Someone said. "Who was that?" You said looking around.

You see something come out of the dark. "Eggman..." Tails said with a frown. "Yup the one and only. He said while rubbing his mustache. "Let's get this over with." Eggman said as he pressed a button. Four rockets shot at Tails. Seeing this you quickly jump in front of Tails as the rockets explode. As the dust and rumble settles Eggman looks at you both shocked. You looked back up at him with your shield deployed. Then you look back at Tails. "You ok?" You said. Tails looks at you speechless. "I'll take that as a yes." You said as you giggled. You despawned your shield and looked back at Eggman with a stern look on your face. Eggman pressed another button in a hurry. You saw red lights shine from the dark behind him.

Robots formed out of the dark. "Badnik's." Tails said. "We need Sonic." You backed up a bit. Tails tried to reach for his communicator but a badnik rushed at him. With no time to reaction you push Tails out of the way as the badnik jumps on to you. As your wrestling with is Tails runs over and kicks it off you. "You ok Y/N?" He holds a hand out for you to grab on. "Yeah, thanks." You say while grabbing his hand. He pulls you up and you look at the badnik's walking to you. 

You pick up the communicator and threw it to Tails. "Sonic! We got the emerald but Eggman found us! We're underground! We need your help!" "Ok I'll be there! Wait but is Y/N-" Tails hang up before Sonic can finish. The badnik that Tails kicked got back up. You noticed this as you summon your shield. The bot dashes at you but crashes into your shield. Falling back from the impact you quickly summon your sword and slash the bot in half. You look at Eggman as he sits there deploying more and more badniks. Tails runs beside you and rips the arm off of the bot you destroyed. 

You look at Eggman in his egg mobile and formed a plan. "Tails!" He turned to you. "Do you think you can handle the badnik's for a minute? I have a idea." Tails nodded as he was hitting badniks with another one's arm. You looked at Eggman again. He's turned around doing something. You despawn your shield as you still have your sword. You run to the horde of bots. You jump up landing on a bot allowing you to jump again. You grasped your sword handle in both hands. Eggman turned to see you flying toward him. "AGGH!" He screamed as you collided your sword with his egg mobile.

Your sword stabs right into the flying shell. You look up to see Eggman press a button and launches through the roof as there was another trap door above him. You understood the reason why and despawned your sword and summoned your shield as you ran to Tails. It was to late. You turned around trying to block yourself from the explosion but failed as a flying piece hit you in your chest sending you to the wall. You watched as a flying hit Tails in the head knocking him unconscious. After the dust settles you tried to get up as a terrible pain in your chest stopped you. You looked up to realize all of the badnik's were destroyed. You try to get up again but the pain in your chest pulling you back down. Cough Cough "T-Tails?..." You slowly crawled to Tails while holding your chest.

You picked up Tails head as you see his eyes closed. He had a large cut on his head with blood dripping out. You checked your pocket to see the emerald is still there. It looks untouched and new. You wondered how you were gonna get back to the surface. You remembered as Tails could fly but he was unconscious. You remember what Tails said about the emeralds how they hold immense power. You look at the emerald in your hand. You didn't know how to use it as just holding it made you feel powerful. You managed to stand getting through the pain as you looked up to see the hole you fell through. You bent your legs preparing to jump still carrying Tails. 

You jump up expecting not to go far. You were right. You tried again while holding the emerald expecting not to go far again. This time you were wrong. The emerald glowed making a aura around you. You jumped with a unexpected boost. The trapdoor entrance opens as you make it back to the surface. The light of the surface sun blinds your eyes. As you reach the surface you fall back down landing on your back. The impact of you landing on your back causes you to cough. You tried to get up but failed. The pain from your chest causes you to hiss. You manage to at least sit up and carry Tails. You saw Sonic running to you as you put the emerald back in your pocket. "Y/N are you ok?! What happen to Tails?!" Sonic yelled. "E-Eggman's egg mobile it Cough Cough i-it exploded. Tails was hit and knocked unconscious." You said while holding your chest.

Sonic held a hand for you to grab on. You grabbed his hand as he pulled you up. You hissed at the pain in your chest as Sonic pulled you up. "We gotta get back to the tornado. Tails is hurt and I'm pretty sure you are as well." Sonic said. "When we get back we have to bandage his head and his cuts. Sonic ran back to the tornado as you followed him. You put your hand over the cut on Tails head to stop blood from coming out. When you made it make to the tornado you saw Sonic in the driver seat with the plane started. You put Tails in the passenger seat and then climbed in with him. "You ready?" Sonic said. "Y-yeah." As sonic started to take off you held Tails close to you.

Once you made it back to Tails workshop you jumped out of the plane while carrying Tails but you landing on your feet cause a sharp pain in your chest causing you to fall. Cough Cough "Ugh.." Sonic walked over to you and held out a hand. You grabbed his hand and he pulled you up. "If your gonna keep failing you should definitely get some rest." Sonic smirked. "Tails should as well I'll Cough Cough bandage his head then put him in bed." You said weakly. "Alright, but will you be ok? You seem.. erm. Nevermind. Anyways I come by and check on you and Tails tomorrow sound good?" You gave a thumbs up. "Great! Well goodnight." Sonic said. He waved and dashed off. You carried Tails inside and put him on the couch.

You grabbing the roll of band-aid and wrapped it around Tails head covering the wound. You carried Tails upstairs to his room and placed him on his bed and you put the emerald on his desk. You lied down on the floor next to his bed and went to sleep.
