TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR ABUSE VIOLENCE AND TRANSPHOBIA.
"Mom, Dad!"
Elliot yelled from his room. No reply.
"Mom,dadddd!"
Elliot shouted out again, as he walked down the stairs he hears banging and screaming,
"it sounds like..like mom.."
Elliot said in a whispered tone. He was scared, terrfied, mortified. Anything negative washed over him and filled his thoughts. Elliot tip toes to the living room, finally seeing his sister and mom play fighting. A rush of relief pushed through his whole body. His dad wasn't home but normally if he is, it doesn't end well at all, for anyone, not even the dogs. I have never seen dad more upset than today, he instantly walks to me and asks
"Why are you telling people you are not a f--king girl Allison?!!"
Mom instantly looks at me in disgust, I was only 12 at the time. Dad raises his hand at me and slaps me.
"HEY DON'T HIT THEM!"
Viper yells out, she was my 17 year old sister, who always took up for everyone else besides herself. Dad turns to her and laughs.
"Why the h-ll do you think that you can tell me what to do in my house??!"
Dad yells, you could clearly smell the alcohol on his breath. He had a terrible life and wasn't thought how to be a dad, nor how to be a good person.
"Dad, stop you are drunk, stop it!"
Viper yells back, wondering if he would hit her instead of her "sister". Viper didn't know at the time but was slowly realizing that her "sister" really wasn't her "sister" but was more likely her brother.
Their dad storms up the stairs, mom follows as Elliot is crying as Viper rushes to him."Hey, hey, breathe hunny, lets get you cleaned up..and we can talk, okay love..?"
Viper felt bad that she couldn't have done more, more to make his life better and easier. She always felt like this was her own fault. Viper started to ponder on what she could do to make it better, but couldn't come up with anything as they walked to his bright blue room filled with different flags, decorations, and plants.
Elliot wasn't sure why he had to be the one to get hit, maybe it was because he was different, but he still wasn't sure how he was different. Elliot slowly sat on the bad, sobbing as his sister held him, trying to clam him down, not sure how. Viper felt helpless and miserable due to their life situation. Viper hesitated as she said
"Hun..I think its time we call someone about this.." Viper said in a very sad voice, as memories of their dad and mom being happy, loving them, and doing what parents were supposed to do. She all of a sudden remembered her favorite day with her parents.
This memory was Vipers 10th birthday, April 23rd 2015, this was 7 years ago. Her mom had bought her favorite game, snacks, and a few horror movies, and had told Viper that she could invite a few friends over, at the time, Viper was very much so a popular girl at that age and would continue to be very popular. But, she invited a few different people and had an amazing time, all of the kids ate ice-cream and had pizza for dinner, which was rare in this house at the time.
Viper let a few tears escape, remembering when her mom and dad, actually cared about the two of them. Elliot got up and showed Viper something, it was bruises all over his arms, from where his dad had grabbed him so hard that it left purple bruising. Viper gasped as she picked up her phone and dialed "911" knowing that if CPS didn't do anything, that she would make her "sisters" life so much better, somehow.
Finally a lady picks up the phone
