Spiralling

Just a little bit further to stretch... But as he began to see a navy hat, Kyo turned the doorknob.

Y/N scurried silently to the kitchen and ducked by the sink to hopefully avoid them. In came Kyo, who seemed frustrated but that was all you heard. Had the second person left? "Get up. You're not so subtle", Kyo furrowed his brows. Gulp. Y/n stood up sheepishly, and fidgeted with his fingers. "What did you hear?" an almost whisper responded. The tension felt so heavy, as if you were slowly drowning in the air you stood in.

"N-nothing. I heard nothing. I swear", he looked away from Kyo. Footsteps could be heard which scared y/n to close his eyes shut. Was Kyo going to come over and torture him? Does he not believe him?! Kyo raised his hand and ruffled y/n's hair. "Good", he then left and locked himself into his office.  The silence was confusing. What happened out there?

Out of curiosity, y/n went towards the peephole again just to see if anyone was there but as he looked through, a wide eye stared back at him. This caused him to fall back in horror, and he held his chest. Is that the same person? Did Kyo piss him off?! While feeling shaken, y/n stumbled to his bedroom and closed the door. It was only now that he wanted to be locked in there, safely away from the psycho at the door. Some light knocks echoed from the door.

Noise rose from Kyo's office as he got up and headed to the source. Is he dumb? Kyo opened the door so y/n ran to the wall to eavesdrop. Kyo asked, "Did you forget something?", which sounded too casual for such a situation. Was this person always like this? The other person responded in a low tone, "You can't ignore me for much longer. You must do as contracted sooner or later. Otherwise... I'll take matters into my own hands. Do you want me to take lead again?" his stern yet playful tone was scary.

"No. Of course not", Kyo bluntly said, it seemed they stood quietly for a few seconds before the door closed again. He stormed over to the sofa and fell onto it letting out a deep sigh. Kyo seemed down. Y/n slowly emerged from his room and crept towards the other. A slight chuckle left Kyo's mouth before he turned to face y/n, "I need to teach you how to become more stealthy". That was strange. His muscles relaxed after being caught, and he sat beside Kyo. They quietly watched the tv for a while, not sharing a single thought. It was calming. Much nicer than how the event earlier had been.

News appeared which caused Kyo to switch the tv off, almost out of habit. "You've become known you know?" Kyo paused. Y/n looked at Kyo confused and leans closer to Kyo.

"News that a  male has been murdered is big news on the streets and media. His whereabouts is unknown. But his name-" Kyo stopped. Y/n understood. He was meant to be dead already however Kyo had been delaying it. As soon as the hammer concluded his purchase, he had no chance of ever returning to normal. His life was meant to end here as some wealthy bidder's bride.

No. Victim.

Kyo cleared his throat then continued, "His name doesn't matter. But I can say your manners and behaviour have improved", he raised his arms to rest them along the top of the sofa back. Y/n couldn't help but nod in response. He had lost hope. The silence was ended by Kyo standing up and retiring to his own bedroom. No more conversation was shared, so y/n also decided to leave for the comfort of the bed he had. He wasn't tired, but more so depressed. Like a throbbing ache, the weight of the blanket increased the more he thought. Ah... He was spiralling into despair.
