Tails woke up as a bolt of lightning struck nearby. He sat up on the muddy ground and weakly lifted his head to look around. He was on the forest floor and he could feel something watching him. He quickly stood up and looked around with his eyes darting around. He spotted Cream on the Ground and a dark silhouette was kneeled over her. Cream seemed asleep and the silhouette had a long fluffy Tail that brushed against her dress before . He instinctively crept up behind the silhouette and the rain muffled his footsteps. He grabbed their shoulder and pushed them to the side. He was careful not to step onto Cream's arms or ears which stuck out. The silhouette at him and he growled back angrily. He took a step forward and lightning struck nearby illuminating the silhouette briefly. It was a fox similar to him but their fur was a dark brown and eyes were orange. He held his arm in front of him as the other fox attacked and it knocked him back and he lost track of time. He quickly recovered and spun around causing his tails to slam into the other fox. It hit the tree and he backed up next to Cream who was still propped up against a tree. The silhouette disappeared into the leaves quickly after a few moments of watching. He turned his attention back to Cream who had had a ripped dress as well as gloves. They where both muddy and Cream seemed to have a few cuts and bruises. He couldn't see himself but felt little pain even though his arm had three large cuts from the attack. It bled but the rain washed it away. Luckily the watch had had protected him from getting larger cuts but it fell onto the ground having been broken beyond repair with the band having snapped. He looked at the tree canopy and the place they had been in the tree branches had been toppled over which explained how they got down. He shook her and she still remained still with not even a shiver. He quickly picked her up and nearly dropped her from the pain it caused. He ran through the forest looking around until he reached a empty clearing with a pond that was being filled by a small waterfall from a stream. He hesitantly walked over and set her down by the water. The rain was blocked by a variety of branches and there was plenty of space for them. He scooped up some water and splashed it on her. She still remained unresponsive even after he shook her again. He thought to himself briefly as he looked at his fur that had turned dark brown. His mind flashed back to the fox that attacked them. Dark brown fur and orange eyes. He looked into the pond and saw his fur growing brown and his own half eyes staring back at him with an orange tint. His left arm had turned completely brown and there where patches of brown fur distinguishable from the mud. He gazed back at Cream and felt a nauseating feeling. The adrenaline had finally faded from him and he now felt weak and tired aside from the blood loss and pain. For a few minutes he sat by the pond and brushed her fur as he held her closely. He stared at the still pond in partial silence. The rain audibly hit the leaves above them and a chilling wind echoed through the trees. He closed his eyes and hugged Cream tightly.

Cream woke up feeling someone shaking her. She slightly opened her eyes and saw golden arms and white gloves in her view. "Tails.. Stop.." She murmered as she brushed the arms away. She was shaken again and after opening her eyes it had changed to pink arms with golden rings on the gloves. She recognized the arms and weakly looked up. "A-Amy?.." She stuttered still sleepy. "Cream!.. Thank God you're okay!... What where you doing out here?.." She asked concerned. "I.. Tails.. I need to.. Find him.." She stuttered out as she suddenly attempted to stand realizing he wasn't with her anymore. "Hey Cream wait!.. Calm down.. Everything's alright.." Amy said preventing her from standing. "Amy let me go... I need.. To.. Find Tails.." She stuttered out again. "Tails?.. Who's..." She trailed off as Cream suddenly broke out of her grip and fell over into the pond. She needed a few moments to process what had happened before she jumped in and pulled Cream out. They both needed a few seconds to catch their breath and Cream proceeded to cough out mouthfuls of water. Amy patted her back and Cream eventually recovered and weakly sat up. "Amy... I.." She trailed off before suddenly falling down limp. Amy caught her and held her closely. "You what?.." Amy calmly asked stroking Cream's ear. "I.. I.." Cream mumbled. "You what, Cream?.." Amy responded calmly. " I.. Don't feel so.. Good.." Cream mumbled into Amy's dress. "Just go find.. Him.." Cream begged before passing out.

Tails felt a sense of familiarity as he sat up in a room that had a singular window and a desk, closet, and the bed he was on.
The door squeaked as it opened and a familiar green figure walked in. "Tails?.. You alright?.." She said walking over. He hesitated before getting out of the bed. His gloves and shoes had disappeared and where replaced by a different kind made of vines and leaves. "You need to finish what we started.." She said putting her hand on his forehead. "W-What do you?." He started but cut off. "What happened?.." He asked again realizing he could think clearly and speak. "You were getting corrupted." She answered brushing his ear. "By what?.." He asked partially enjoying the feeling of her hand on his ear. "Do you remember that Purple Mist?.." She asked. "Yeah?.." He said still confused. "That's part of a being from another dimension. I don't know why it's here but it's mist corrupts your kind. Or rather.. The predatorial species.." She answered scratching his ear. "Sorry.. I know you don't remember everything including me.. But it's just been so long since I've been able to see you.. You're so much older and your fur is thicker.." She said noticing his slight discomfort. "It's alright.. Just.. Where am I?.." He asked looking around the room. "You'll remember this place eventually but the important part is that this isn't the real world. " She said before continuing "This isn't exactly a dream but it is created by your memories of the past. A past that wasn't that long ago.. It's been.. 4 years?..." She said feeling his arm. "So.. What's this.. 'Being from another dimension.'" He asked ignoring her arm on his. "You'll remember once you wake up.. " She said before hugging him. "Okay.. Then I have a few questions about the real world. "Is it about your friend?.." She asked. "Yes. Is she okay?.. I remember that I had to leave her with that pink hedgehog because she kept attacking me.. " He asked worried. "Yes. That girl was one of her friends. And she's not the only one that would do anything to protect her friends. " She said letting go of him. "So.. She thought.." He said piecing together everything. "Exactly.. Right now I can feel both of them looking for you. It won't be long until they find you and wake you up.." She said looking slightly sad. "Am I still going to remember this?.." He asked thinking. " You should.. Not only this but even more.. " She said letting go of him and walking to the window. "Guess it's about time for you to go.. Come back soon.." She leaned against the window looking out. "Come.. Back?.." He repeated before a blinding light from the window made everything disappear.
