I Want To Be More Than An Experiment

Chapter 14 Wisdom in greed part 1

The story starts at edge of night as the sun began to peak through the horizon of sea. The sound quietness was surrounded all across the island of the edge. But the sound of footsteps of singular lean viking with auburn hair and green walked across the wooden floor that connected the many houses.

Hiccup Haddock was walking back and forth. He breathed a sigh and looked at the rising sun. It was luminous with it's white and yellow glow. He began to walk back to his hut. When he heard the sound of Fishlegs. He slowly walked to his hut not to alarm him. There he saw Fishlegs to the norse gods. He watched for a moment before he went back to his hut and sat on his chair. While his scaly companion toothless slept on the floor.

"Thor, Odin, Freya I may not be the most active among your countless believers. But please if at the very least for once don't place my prayer on deaf ears today. Three days ago we found an island that we shouldn't have. For when we step into that land. All of it was wrong, the fundamental principles of the world that have been sewn by you were unmade. I feared that the god of trickery and mischief is at play. I for one can't be sure of what forces are at play. I simply ask for the strength to carry on the difficult decision. I will inevitably have to make." Hiccup prayed to gods he knew.

Normally he wouldn't be concerned by a gigantic dragon. But something about this particular dragon stirred up feeling of hatred, violence, feeling trap. All this happened within moments of the island crumbling. He pinches the bridges of his nose. Trying to not stirr up unwanted nightmare. "Okay I need sleep, this time don't think about what happened 3 days ? That should be easy, just focus on the celling and you will eventually fall asleep. Yeah yeah that should work." The young viking said before getting of his chair and laying on his bed looking at the celling.

He then soon followed asleep soon after. But his sleep was short lived as the sound of knocking on his door awaken him from his dreams. He gets out of his bed and sees toothless yawning while stretching his back. "Well bud what do you say we go out for a flight after breakfast." Hiccup says to his scaly companion. Toothless gave a distraught looked at his rider. Showing still anxiousness from the same day.

"Ok toothless if you don't wanna that's okay but could atleast come from breakfast. You haven't been eating all that well since three days ago." Hiccup said expressing concern for his dragon. Toothless weakly and slowly got up and followed hiccup to the door. When hiccup opened the door. Astrid and Fishlegs was standing there waiting for him.

"So Hiccup it's been about three days. What are we going to do about the---" Fishlegs was elbowed by Astrid. Who gave a are you serious look at him. "So hiccup what's say we get some breakfast. We can discuss the matter regarding the um episode later." Astrid said to not to unnecessary stressout Hiccup. The three of them then slowly walk back to clubhouse for breakfast.

They saw Snoutlout serving up breakfast. Which was not bad, as they ate none of them engage in conversation. He looked behind and saw toothless devouring an entire of basket of fish. He gave a small chuckle. As he finished eating his meal. The awkward silence was broken when the twins arrived. They immediately sit down and began talking about strange words and peculiar terms. As they were talking they mention something regarding the acid water. They all began glaring at them.

The twins seem blissful unaware of the gazes that there friends are giving. That was until Snoutlout spoke up. "Okay what are two idiots upto ?" Snoutlout asked. They gave looked back and saw the eyes of their fellow dragon riders looking intently at them. "Well if you must know, we have been the strange dreams ever since we visted that island that turned into the astroyhydra. So we began documenting on everything we have seen thus far in our dreams along with the peculiarities in the island." Ruffnut said while looking at them. Hiccup looked as if he had a hundred guestions to ask.

"What have you recorded thus far ?" Fishlegs asked. "We found that island has strange marine life like iabnok. Which are with squids with crabs along with massive bird like beaks." Tuffnut pulled out a journal from his midriff. He then showed an artistic rendering of the creature. Hiccup and Fishlegs watched in amazement.

"Amazing what else did you find ?" Fishlegs asked. "We then discovered the most crucial piece of our discovery." Tuffnut said while taking a cup and placing a sponge over it. He then gently squeezed the sponge, which caused the absorbed liquid to fall into the cup. The liquid was extremely black. The smell of the bizarre liquid was acidic, corrsive with a slight metallic smell. "Tuff where do you find this liquid specifically." Hiccup asked. "Do you want to go straight to the point or full story." Tuffnut asked. "We need as much information we can get on the matter. So explain every small detail." Hiccup responded

"Well while we were stranded on the island, ruff got thirsty for water. So we began looking for water. Soon after looking for awhile we found a crystal clear lakes. The problem was that it was infested with ginormous man eating fish. I meanWe then found a river. Which was fortunately not filled with maneating fish or snakes. Then after we satiated our thirst. We began exploring this island. At which point we found a massive stream of this liquid. Naturally my first instinct was to throw Ruffnut into the water. To see what would happen, in this situation. Barf then preceded to quickly grabbed her out of the water causing slight wound on her forearm." Tuffnut said as he was interrupted by Ruffnut.

"I immediately shoved him into the water. Which caused the waterto splash allover me. Which cause the wound on my forearm to disappear. Thus leading to the discovery of this revolutionary medicine." Ruffnut finished.

"Tuff Ruff look we need important information. Not some made up story of a fake fountain of youth story." Astrid said to them. "No no keep going." Hiccup said to the twins. "Hiccup are you seriously believing this." Astrid guestioned him. "We can't just ignore either astrid. You and I have been on the island. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. And considering the situation in which we are in. I think it's important we know as much as we can." Hiccup said to Astrid.

Astrid looked at Snoutlout and Fishlegs. "Well Astrid I have to agree with Hiccup. You saw how our dragons were when we landed their. And we can't exactly apporach these subject without knowing what we are up against." Fishlegs said.

"I can see that lady Astrid is none to certain about the regenerative feats of said concoction. Let's gave her a field test sister nutt." Tuffnut said to his sister. "With pleasure dear brother." Ruffnut said as she removed her hand braces which revealed the burned skinned underneath. "Do you muttonsheads really think that it will work ?" Astrid said with skepticism in her voice.

Soon as the liquid fall down on the skin of the burn. It caused the burn marks to disappear. Astrid looked with her mouth a gape. "This could the most single most important moments in all history. Who knows what this liquid can do Hiccup." Fishlegs said with excitement.

"Well maybe the gods are not trying to start the next plaque." Snoutlout with grin on his face. "Well if we don't consider the fact that there is a gigantic dragon on the lose. Then yeah optimistic revolution." Tuffnut remarked. "Well considering the potential ramifications of leaving a dragon like that wonder about. We need to at the very least chart where it migrated to. So that we may find a pattern in which it moves." Fishlegs said while holding the cup of the black liquid.

"Oh great I can see where this going. We are going back to the island of eminent death aren't we ?" Snoutlout said with tried expression. "Take rest and fed your dragons, we leave in noon." Hiccup said and then got up from his seat. Astrid looked with a concern

He then left for his hut with his dragon. The rest soon followed, Astrid decided to go for a morning flight. Fishlegs left to check-on meatlug. The twins left to further notedown the things they saw on the island. Snoutlout went into his hut to take power nap. While Hiccup was busy brainstorming ideas on how to apporach the task at hand.
