CHAPTER 01

THOUGHT I FOUND A WAY OUT

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ♡︎♡︎♡︎
TODAY WAS OUR anniversary, a special day that was supposed to be filled with sweetness coming from the both of us, a love shared between a married couple. Unfortunately, that is all but a general description of what it should be, for Muzan and I are nothing like that.

As always, I was the first one to wake up, leaving our shared king sized bed and freshening myself up before starting a day filled with nothing but household chores and spending my time with my pets. If luck was favouring me today then maybe one of my nephews would be dropped here until Michikatsu or Douma decides to take their children again.

After showering and dressing up, I went straight to the kitchen. I shall worry about waking up my husband later on. He came home drunk again, smelling like a mixture of cheap booze and champagne. There was also a hint of women's perfume on his blazer, but I shall only keep my mouth shut. It's likely he went clubbing with his friends after a dinner party with his co-workers.

Just a typical night for a man like Muzan.

The chef, who was responsible for cooking everything for us, greeted me enthusiastically, and so did the maids. Besides the pets I brought home with me, these people are the only ones that brighten up this unlovable mansion. They keep me company and have spoken to me more than my husband ever did after eight years of being married.

How charming.

Since it was our anniversary, I have a duty to still keep our life 'romantic' as possible, as per Muzan's own request. So I asked the chef to cook both of our favourite meals, offering to help him with the easier ones and letting me know if there are any ingredients needed that I am allergic to.

Meat and fish were Muzan's more favoured diet, though I've influenced it a little bit with vegetables and other healthy side dishes. It was one of the very rare things I could appreciate about him. He still considered what I like despite not even knowing when my birthday is.
