If you ask me, things happen the way they do for a reason. One little action can be the spark to ignite a fire that can burn on for as little or as long as it wants to. Life is basically a series of everlasting chain reactions. Just like the other day I wasn't supposed to be spending any money, but I went to Noodles and Company anyway to get a very delicious bowl of mac and cheese, but they were all out of macaroni noodles. That was basically a sign that I didn't really need to get it (although it's very awkward for a noodle place to run out of noodles). Or maybe I can talk about the time that I literally forgot to put on underwear (don't ask how that's possible) and I was going to be late for a huge Biology test that was worth basically my whole damn grade if I went back home to put some on. I obviously didn't have a choice but to go back home, so by the time I get back in the house, it's pouring raining and my teacher sends out an email that she's postponing the test and I got to grab the umbrella I purposely hung on the handle of the front door, but forgot it the first time I left the house.

I still have the $8 I would've spent on a bowl of mac and cheese, I got an A on my Biology test that I had extra time to study for, and luckily, my padded panties caught all of mother nature that decided to surprise me that day instead of my light blue jeans. That would've been a disaster.

And then sometimes, things happen that drastically change your life. Whether it be for the better or for the worse. Somebody who's crossing the street, but paying more attention to their phone instead of the street full of speeding cars, could be stopped my someone who thinks they look familiar. A drunk driver could have been speeding through the red light and if that heroic person never stopped the distracted pedestrian, they would've been a crosswalk pancake.

My drastic chain reaction was falling off of my bike, falling to the ground on a sharp piece of glass, running to the nurse's office with an arm gushing blood, the nurse being on lunch break, me thinking my life was about to be over, running to the nearest building on campus that I would think has a first aid kit, realizing that I left my bike in front of the building my class was in, running back towards the building to get my bike, seeing some boy walking off with it, trying to fuss him out for stealing my bike, and then him telling me that he was taking it to one of the bike stops around campus to lock it up for me so nobody would steal it. Then he told me that there were two health centers on campus, at least one always open all the time.

Meeting this boy was the outcome of the unfortunate events I went through. And honestly, I don't know if this was a spark to start one of those big, bright, beautiful fires that I would admire forever or if it was going to be one of those raging, destructive fires that would leave a path of destruction on my life.

And on my heart.
