Sooooooooooo

WAIT I CAN EXPLAIN

So growing up in a bilingual country, in a bilingual school, I had to write something that was well, bilingual.

So, uhh, it just happened to turn into 50% Chinese and 50% English

Those who can read Chinese, read it. Those who can't, Google translate exists. (Nah man I'm from the Chinese Creative Writing class not the translation class I ain't translating my shit. Sometimes you just gotta accept that you have to use Google translate)

木偶 Puppet

Once upon a time

在一个很远很远的地方

There was a puppet

它有一个圆圆的脸

Two long arms

两只长长的退

A permanent smile

难看的发型

Controlled by strings hanging on

但,这只木偶

Has a heart

在雕刻时偷偷放进去的

"Every day, I perform.

每天,我都在被控制

Every day, I hate this life."

它每天试着逃离生活

To not be controlled, but

每天,它都被绳子控制着

"I want to be free"

它对女巫说

"Not to be binded to the thread."

"我能帮你"

The witch smiled an evil smile

"我能帮你从绳子脱离。"

Every day after that

它的绳子一点一点地松了

It could not be happier, for its wish was coming true

它耐心地等待着

Waiting for the day it could be free

等待脱离的那一天

One day

绳子断了

The puppet fell to the ground

"我终于得到自由了"

It exclaimed happily

但,它并没有发现,自己还不能动

It struggled

但始终动不了

It wanted to scream

但喊也喊不出

So,

木偶慢慢地、慢慢地

Became a useless pile of wood

"啊,好像

I never should have been free."

It's sort of grammatical if you only read the English lines (?) but nah bro if you don't read the Chinese you're missing out.
