3rd wheel

INTAK POV

intak was in his room, in front of the mirror, trying every outfit possible in his closet, trying to find the perfect outfit that would bag him jiung. he'd been nervous the whole morning and his stomach was in a knot. he checked his phone every two minutes to see if keeho or jiung had texted him. 13:01. he still had about 10 minutes left to get ready, before he had to go out and head towards the meet up spot they agreed on, the library.
he was pretty nervous, he had never seen them irl after all. he wanted to make a good first impression on them, and somehow prove to jiung that his feelings towards him were genuine, yet he was scared about making a mistake or something.
he hadn't online dated before so he wasn't familiar with it either. he started pacing around in his room, trying to get his anxiety and nervousness under control, his mind racing with thoughts of everything that could go wrong : from making a bad first impression or his friends simply not liking his irl personality. after some minutes he stopped in the middle of his room and took a couple breaths, he looked in the mirror again and smiled satisfied. "damn im so sexy" he was wearing a pair of grey jeans that he had stolen from his younger brother, a blue knitted vest over a white long sleeved shirt and to finish off the look he picked out some white sneakers and some rings. "okay, i'm ready" he thought to himself.

he was feeling nervous as he made his way to the library, where he would soon meet his two friends. it didn't take long to arrive there, about thirty minutes by bus and fifteen by train plus five of waking. he took out his headphones and connected them to his phone, playing his favourite song 'limbo' at full volume as he walked through the crowded subway station. sure he was an extrovert and everything, but crowded spaces made him panic and music helped him take his mind off of it. he saw that his train still hadn't arrived so he sat down on an empty bench to wait for it and suddenly a girl sat down next to him. "she looks familiar" he thought and tried to get a better picture of her without her noticing. and then it hit him.

"ah uhm excuse me?" he awkwardly said to her. she looked at him confused, not recognising him.

"yes?"

"are you choonhee?"

she looked at him and squinted her eyes, trying hard to remember if she had seen him somewhere, but failing. she then looked around, trying to see if this was some kind of tik tok prank but decided to just ask him "huh- yeah, how do you know who i am?" .

"oh my god hii, im intak, nari's ex boyfriend, she's told me so much about you, i can't believe i finally get to meet you" he said and smiled at her, genuinely happy to see her.

her face light up "OHHH INTAK" she said and grabbed his hands "so nice to meet you, nari told me about how sweet you were to her when she came out to you and i just couldn't hep but take a liking towards you, and i've heard that you also like a boy now?" she smiled.

"ah- haha yeah, his name is jiung and im actually going to meet him now, along with some other friends" he told her but was interrupted by a manly voice announcing the arrival of his train. "shit my train is here, i gotta go, but hey- want to exchange contacts and maybe hang out some time? me with jiung and you with nari? some sort of double date if today goes well haha"

"yeahh sure that sounds good" she gave him her number and smiled at him again "oh and good luck with your boy, im sure it's gonna go well"

"thanks, luck will be very much needed" he said and stood up, he waved goodbye at his new friend and headed to the train that would take him to jiung and keeho.

the whole ride he just sat there, listening to music and letting his thoughts wander, enjoying the scenery outside the train window. he saw how the sky became dark and cloudy and started hoping and praying that it wouldn't start raining. he took deep breaths trying to calm himself down and get a grip, letting the ryrthm of the music carry him to a dream-like state. he wasn't sure why he was feeling so stressed, i mean, he was meeting two of his dearest friends what's there to be worried about? after about ten minutes the train suddenly stopped in its tracks. "what the fuck".

soon the train conductor's voice could be heard from the speaker "hello ladies and gentlemen and non binary hoes, i'm sorry to inform you that the train has stopped due to weather conditions, we would like to beg your pardon, the train will carry on to it's destination as soon as possible"

intak sighed and took his phone out of his pocket, typing in their group chat name, to tell them that he may have been a bit late due to the sudden inconvenience. as he was about to press send, the train started going again. "oh okay-". five minutes later he arrived at his destination. it had started to rain so he made a quick stop in the nearest shop and bought a flower patterned umbrella. he walked quickly to the library, still listening to music, still thinking of all the possible outcomes of this day.

once he arrived at the library he looked around, searching for his friends. he looked at his phone to see if he was on time. 14:04. "jiung and keeho should already be here". he was about to text them to ask where they where but suddenly felt a pair of arm wrap around him from behind.

THIRD POV

"wh-" he turned around to see who the arms belonged to and saw him. jiung. looking ethereal as the rain hit his head. he had water dripping down on his face and forehead. his hair was messy and his clothes were casual. he was wearing black cargo pants and a beige sweater, white and gray sneakers and earrings. intak was caught off guard by the sudden embrace but didn't hesitate to hug him back. he was feeling a mix of emotions. he was happy to finally meet him in person but also kind of nervous. "oh my god"

"hey" jiung awkwardly said.

"heyy..."

"uh..."

they two stood in silence, awkwardly staring at each other for a while before jiung spoke again "can i have another hug?" he asked, intak immediately obeying and embracing his friend in a tight hug.

"ahem" they heard someone say. the voice was familiar so they turned around to see who it was, and were met by a pair of eyes they knew so well. a black haired boy, nicely dressed up. black oversized jeans, a yellow vest with a star on it, over a black shirt with fishnet sleeves, black platforms and accessories to top off the look. "so are y'all gonna be all lovey dovey or are you gonna say hi to me"

"MY BROTHAAA" jiung screamed and ran over to keeho, jumping and hugging him, basically attacking him. intak doing the same. the three where really happy to finally se each other in person and stayed like that for a while. event though it was cold and raining, the atmosphere there was warm and joyful.

"so- lets go see barbie shall we" keeho said excitedly and grabbed both their hands, dragging their asses to the movie theatre.

"you're older than both of us but still manage to act more childish than us" intak said, jiung cackling at his comment.

"shut up" the male in question said and rolled his eyes, still holding their hands.

on the way to the movie theatre the three spilled all the tea that hadn't been spilled yet, sometimes leaving each other speechless. the tea was hottt. keeho was still in the middle, not holding their hands anymore since he decided to hold the umbrella instead, to shelter them from the heavy rain that was falling. it wasn't especially cold but jiung decided to lend intak his sweater since he saw how cold he looked.

"you look like a drenched puppy, why did you dress so lightly you idiot" he took off his sweater and gave it to his friend, who hesitated to take it but ended up putting it on after seeing how insistent jiung was.

"thank you" he simply said, and enjoyed being in his crush's hoodie.

"ew, gay" keeho said and fake gagged.

"boy shut up and look at how you're dressed, how can one be more gay than you?" jiung rolled his eyes.

they all laughed and continued making their way to the theatre. once there, intak went to buy three tickets for he and his two broke ass friends, who had gone to the snack section to pick out something to eat while watching the movie. keeho took it as a chance to ask jiung about why and how he was close with intak again, only earning a "i'll tell you later" in response. they settled on two big popcorn bags to share and three cokes. they then reunited and made their way to their seats, waiting for the movie to start.
