Dylan-Maximum Ride
I opened my eyes. To my left, my twin brother clutched his pillow. His scarlet hair clung to the sweat on his forehead. His slightly open mouth had a dribble of drool slipping out. I smirked. Numerous times Loui had taken pictures of me when I was sleeping. Before I could grab my camera, there was a knock on the brown, shabby door. I got up off the bed that I shared with my brother and padded to the door, not wanting to wake up Loui.
"What?"I slightly opened the door. I looked down to see the dark brown bedhead hair of my 3-year-old sister. Her short pixie cut stuck up at all ends, and she rubbed her sleepy eyes.
"Dylan..." Gabriella held her arms up to me, signaling that she wanted to be held. Her worn teddy bear was enclosed in her little fist." I can't sleep."
"Well, no wonder." I picked her up and walked down to the small hallway, containing only 3 doors. I stepped down the four stair staircase, and into the kitchen. The clock read 8:30."You're usually up by now."I put Gabriella down. Walking around the small room, I opened the drapes to the few windows that we had. Just as I did so, a person zoomed past, a blur of different shades of brown.
"Probably Sebastian again." I grumbled to myself. Ever since he had grown his wings, and learned how to fly, he was non-stop.
"What's for breakfast?" Gabriella climbed on a stool that was close to the island that we ate at.
"I don't know. How about some scrambles eggs?" I opened the refrigerator to grab some eggs." Can you wake up Loui?"
"Nooooo," Gabriella whined," He's scary in the morning."
Sighing, I finished up mixing the eggs and went back to my room to get Loui.
"Hey, thumb-head.Wake up." I lightly tapped Loui's side with my foot. All of a sudden, a hand grabbed my ankle. Loui's hand. I tried to pull away, but when I shifted my weight, Loui swept me off of my feet. Once I was on my back, he sat on top of me. Chuckling, he grabbed my arms and placed them above my head.
"I thought you were better than that, Gabriella." He said, half-asleep.
"I am." I grinned at my doppelganger. His eyes flashed open, all sleepiness gone. I lifted my knee up and hit him in the back. Surprised, Loui tried to move so most of his weight would fall on my legs. As he did that, his grip loosened on my wrist, and I brought my arm back. Grabbing him in a headlock, and pressing on his pressure point, I knew that I had won.
"Now," I ordered," go sit next to Gabriella at the island."
Loui groaned about stupid girls and what-not. After eating breakfast, and getting dressed, I dropped Gabi off at the neighbor's for daycare while I went to my day job.
As I walked down the street of our older district, the 9th, signs of the Fangirl Games popped out at me. The dreaded Fangirl Games. For years, the 9th district had come in second place. It was disgusting, how the leaders made us fight each other. Because of the Fangirl Games, I would never see my dad again. Because of the Fangirl Games, I would never see my mother again.
I just hoped I would never be chosen.
Alexandra - Supernatural **
I dig the blade into the dirt, knowing that Dad would be pissed if he ever saw it with me again. Pulling down the long sleeves of my black shirt, I brush my fingers over the anti-possession tattoo on my wrist. It was a habit I developed after my first demon attack, and remembered that I had to drop Riley off at the tattoo parlor today. She had to get inked up.
