You opened your eyes to see an empty space on your bed, completely untouched with a faint smell of vanilla emanating from the pillow. You closed your eyes again, putting your arm out that side, looking for some sort of warmth.

You stared at your girlfriend's face, thanking all your lucky stars for landing a girl like her. Truth be told, you still don't know what this beautiful girl saw in you, why she chose you to love and to be with, not that you were complaining. You were thankful, you were sleeping and waking up next to the love of your life.
You gave her a kiss on her forehead, Dani snuggling closer to you when you did. Despite the cold winter morning, it felt warm and cosy; all thanks to the ball of sunshine beside you.
"Sweetheart?", she yawned, "Why are you awake? Did something happen?" she asked with her soft bedroom voice.
"I'm fine, Sunny, don't worry. I'll sleep in a few." you said while running your fingers through her hair.
"Okay, sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too, Sunny."

You sighed, you don't even know why you keep doing this every morning, you know that no one's there anymore. You slowly sat up, rubbing your eyes to wake you up before walking towards the bathroom to do your morning routine.
Once you got there, you washed your face with cold water, hoping that it'll wake you up from your waking nightmare. You dried yourself out with a towel before letting out a deep sigh, looking up to the mirror afterwards. You took your toothbrush from it's cup and applied some toothpaste before brushing, completely ignoring the abandoned toothbrush that was in that same cup.
