It was the 14th of the 3rd month. My dad had gotten in an accident at work. He was a construction worker.

As him and his juniors were checking the beams for a skyscraper, he got a call from my mother. My dad went to an edge to receive the call. "Yeobo, when will you be home?" My mother asked. "Soon. Wait for me, I'll buy some pork for us to--"

One of my dad's juniors thought it would be a good video to play a prank on him. I mean, it's just a harmless prank. Little did he know that his 'harmless' prank would end up taking the life of my dad.

As he saw my dad on the phone, he snuck up behind him. 'Boo!' He screamed. My dad who didn't expect it, took a step forward in surprise. He fell off the beam.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Yeoboseyo? He fell off a building, please help."

"Alright, please stay calm and tell me your address."

"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

"In the meantime..."

About 10 minutes later, my dad was in the ER (emergency room).

My mom received a call as my dad's emergency contact. I still remember the way my mom trembled. "W-woojin get me m-my car keys. HURRY!" I wondered what was wrong. I was just listening to 'Red Lights' ;) by Stray kids when she called me I was using earphones, yet you could still hear it from a distance. I ran upstairs, got her car keys and gave it to her. "GET IN THE CAR." She yelled at me. I did as she ordered.

"What's wrong mom?"

"Your dad. H-he was in an accident."

My heart dropped as my mother uttered those words. Before I realized, tears were flowing from my eyes.

We soon arrived at the hospital.

"Mrs. Cheon?" The doctor asked NY mother and she nodded.

The doctor looked at I and mom pitifully. "We are sorry to tell you this, but your husband has passed on. We offer our condolences.

My mom dropped. I tried assisting her, but she didn't get up. " What do you mean by that?" My mother asked the doctor. "Is this some kind of prank?!"

The doctor bowed his head. "NO!!" My mother yelled. "YOU'RE A DOCTOR BRING MY HUSBAND BACK." She screamed while hitting the doctors leg.

"Mom, it's over. He's gone." I told my mother.

The doctor bowed again then left with the nurses.

"Honey, go outside." My mom ordered.

"GO OUTSIDE I DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE ME CRY." She yelled

I did as she ordered, and took a seat outside.
I started bawling. I tried to suppress myself, but my eyes refused to stop watering, my mouth refused to close, and my heart refused to stop hurting.

"You okay?" A male asked as he sat down next to me. As I looked up, I noticed that he wore a black cap and facemask. I think he noticed I looked uncomfortable and assured me he was about my age.

"My dad just died." I said forgetting Euphemism was a thing. "My mom's a mess and she'll probably start again with her drinking addiction." I shared.

"Wait here for just a minute." The boy said. He stood up and headed out of the hospital premises, but came back a few minutes later. He had something his hand. It was a black bag.

"Here ya go." He said as he handed it to me.
"What's--" I said as I opened the bag. It was the Maxident album. "It's the latest one we've- I mean they've created. I could hear it playing from your earpiece." He said while pointing to them as they dangled around my neck. "I hope you cheer up." He said.

"Thank you so much, but what's your name?" I asked as I looked into his eyes.

"Kim--" He then got a call. As he finished receiving it, he stood up and left. Without even saying goodbye.

"No goodbye?" I yelled after him.

"No. It sounds like well never see each other again. I don't like words like that. How about.. See you soon?"

"See you soon" I smiled and waved.

I found it weird how he just randomly had enough money on him to buy an album, but I shook off the thoughts a little while later.

A week after the death of Woojin's dad...

Mums been drinking more than she ever did. She never sleeps, and doesn't eat meals. I'm worried about her physical and mental well being.

But I can't stop thinking about him. "Is he the one for me?" I thought to myself.
