it was second grade. i was just about to move away from my lover. i hated it. i couldn't help but cry. he was my best friend. those beautiful blue orbs stared at me. longing for me not to leave. if only i could stay and be with him forever. we spent every second of the school day looking longingly into each others eyes, wishing the day wouldn't end. because if it did, we would never see each other again.
the day came to and end and we said our final goodbyes.
'please don't leave me, emily.' he pleaded.
'i'm so sorry shane, i don't wanna leave you.'
'don't forget me, emily' he said as he hugged me tightly.
'never, shane.' i stared into his beautiful blue orbs again. wishing to capture this memory for a life time. i could stay here until the end of time.
i walked out of the school begrudgingly. i sadly watched the school i grew up in zoom past in a blur. i try to remember every detail of our last hug, our last time our eyes interlocked.
i get home to see my parents packing the last few boxes into our uhaul.
'ready to go emily?' my dad says.
'i guess so.' i say as i throw my backpack into the back of my dad's car.
a green note falls out of my backpack, where did that come from?
i open the note and it's from shane.
