Overthinking [ Maddie ]{pt. 2}

Y/N'S POV

After a major jam session and sweet pecks on different parts of my face at red lights, we finally made it to the nail salon. Once I put the car in park, I efficiently undo my seatbelt and get out the car. I shimmy my way to the other side and gently open the door for her, trying not to hit the other cars around us.

As we start to walk to the beloved salon, Maddie grabs my hand and laces our finger together; swinging them lightly. I look down at her to see her looking right back up at me with a look of adoration on her face, causing me to smile.

We get to the door and I open it for her

"For you, my lady. " I say in the most proper British accent causing her to giggle.

We walk up to the front desk and the man asks

"Hello, what can I do for you today?"

Maddie looks at me questionably, also wondering what we're doing.

"Whatever you want baby," I say which caused a smile and light pink to litter across her face.

We get checked in and sit down in the waiting area while the nail techs prepare. Maddie grabs my arm and wraps it around her. She rests her head on my shoulder playing with my fingers and the rings littered among them.

I look down and see she's specifically picking at this one ring. A thick silver band with my lucky number engraved in it. I've had it since college so its gotten a little small, it only fits on my pinky finger. Whenever we're in this position she's always has some sort of gravitation towards it.

After a small evaluation, I take it off and lightly grab Maddie's hand slip it on to her middle finger giving it a quick kiss before I place it back where it was. It was a perfect fit.

She looks up at me mumbling,

"Why'd you do that?"

"Because I want you to have it."

"But it means a lot to you,"

"I know, that's why I'm giving it to the person who means a lot to me." I say with a small smile, hugging her a little tighter.

She kisses along my jaw and snuggles into me, pulling out her phone and airpods from her tote bag so we can watch instagram reels together until they're ready.

BABY TIME SKIPPPPPP

As the nail techs finished up, Maddie admired her nails with a childish look on her face as she quickly walked up to me. I finished up a little earlier than her so I sat back in the reception area and paid for our things.

"Do you like them?" she asked showing me her nails.

"I do, they're very pretty. Do you like them?"

"I do, a lot actually."

"And that's all that matters, are you ready for our next stop?"

"If I say yes will you tell me where we're going?"

"No."

"Wellll... what if I say no?"

"Then I'll know for sure that your lying." I say waving goodbye at the receptionist before grabbing her hand and leading her back to the car.

"Your such a bully." she mumbles, hopping on my back and leaning her head on my shoulder.

"Really? I didn't know bullies carried their dweebs around."

"I'm not a dweeb."

"Mhm, sure. " I respond opening the door and turning around so she could sit in the passenger seat.
