The Last Dance [ Maddie ] {pt. 2}

3RD PERSON POV

Y/n's uber pulls up to the facility, and as she thanks the driver Maddie is inside getting her make-up done for her solo. Everyone just got done watching Kenzie do her solo, and now they're watching Jojo do hers. Maddie & Kenzie are the only ones that consist in the room.  "Good job Kenz, you looked great out there" Maddie said as she finished her eyeshadow. "Thanks" Kenzie replied as she wiped her make-up off, since the group dance isn't until this evening. "I seen that you were kinda out of it earlier today... are you okay now?" she continued.

Maddie smiled and responded saying "Yea I'm alright now, I was just a little nervous". "What caused the change of heart? Usually if your nervous type of mood, nobody can get you out of it until after you dance..." Kenzie then started to smirk and raise her eyebrows as she said "the only person who can is Y/n, did you talk to her??" Maddie's blush answered Kenzie before she even said anything. "You know what? You don't even have to answer that question. I already know you did." Both the girls started laughing at each other. As the laughter died down Maddie said "Yeah i was just overthinking myself into a panic attack, and the only person I could think of talking to was Y/n." "aweeeeeeeeeeee" Kenzie started making Maddie blush even more.

Once Maddie got Kenzie to stop, the younger sister said "Now thinking about it, I really do miss Y/n... especially dancing with her" "Trust me, I miss her too" Maddie said. Both the sisters looked up as the door opened as the rest of the girls and their moms piled into the room. "Who are you guys talking about?" Kalani asked.  "Y/n" Kenzie replied. That response sent all the other girls and their moms into a frenzy talking about how they miss Y/n as well.

Soon Melissa came in and told Maddie that she was almost up, then the Ziegler's mom got a text and quickly sped out the room. "That's suspicious" Kenzie said as she looked at Maddie who was grabbing her things "Very, but I'll worry about that later" said Maddie as she left the room and continued to the foyer of the stage while the other girls went back to sit in the audience.

While all of that was happening, Y/n was texting Melissa that she had made it. Which is why she zoomed out of the room to meet her. As soon as Y/n walked in Melissa immediately pushed her out of the door and around the corner.

Y/N POV

I walk into the facility as I try to look and find Melissa. As I'm still looking I feel my body being shoved backwards making me almost fall. I get shoved again and I'm about to get upset at whoever pushed me, but i look to see its Melissa! I let her move me around the corner before I hug her, but i quickly pull away asking "Was there a reason for you shoving me??" "Oh, I'm sorry sweetheart, the girls were going back into the auditorium and I didn't want them to see you just yet." she said. "Ohh okay" I respond. "They should be in by now, I'm gonna go sit with the other moms, so u just wait a little and then you can follow me. You can sit like 2 rows behind us okay?" "Okay" I said as I agreed with the plan. I let her go in and waited a little. When I walked in I got distracted by some kids who were selling cookies. Don't judge me.

As I was buying a box I heard "Y/N?!?" and i quickly looked around to see who called. I turn to see Nia running towards me and wrapping me in a hug. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE??" she almost yelled, grabbing the attention of a few others. I quickly apologize and tell her to shush. "I'm here to surprise Maddie, Kenzie, & the rest of you guys... but i can do that if you blow my cover!" I exclaim. "Ohh, sorry!" She said as we both laughed. "Go to the auditorium, I'll be in there in a sec... don't let the other girls know I'm here!" I said and she responded "Your secret's safe with me Y/N/N" and skipped into the auditorium. That girl is crazy istg.

I walk in the auditorium just as the judge starts to call Maddie's name. I quickly sit down behind Melissa and send her a smile. As Maddie is dancing, there only one thought going through my mind; she looks gorgeous. She does an amazing job on all her moves and turns, I'm super-duper proud of her. As she finishes her dance she gets a standing ovation. I can't stop myself from smiling as I stand along with the crowd and clap. As she gazes across the crowd and as we lock eyes a shocked expression passes her face. I send her a quick wink and big smile. She quickly returns back to her ending look and struts off stage, but from the corner I see her running towards the front of the building.
