"And that concludes the meeting. You are now dismissed." Ubuyashiki dismissed the hashira for now, and they all bowed with respect before dispersing and going to do their own thing.
"Giyuu! Me and Shinobu are going to go to town and get food. Wanna come with us?" Mitsuri called out to Giyuu, he looked up and thought for a moment, before shaking his head a little. Mitsuri nodded and Shinobu gave Giyuu a playful eye roll.
"Not so surprising, eh Giyuu?" Shinobu laughed at her introverted best friend (GIYUSHINO BEST FRIENDS REAL). "I just wanted to rest today." Giyuu replied. "Whatever, that's fine with us, see you!" Shinobu said back as she took Mitsuri's hand and started walking with her. Giyuu looked around a bit, before spotting Obanai in his usual spot in the tree, but when he looked at the position he was sitting in, he got a bit worried that he might fall.
Obanai was sitting on one of the thick branches, hugging his knees to his chest and leaning on the trunk of the tree on his side. He seemed to be fast asleep, which meant that if he accidentally fell, he may get hurt pretty bad. Giyuu knew how crabby Iguro could become around him, so he decided to leave him alone and not bother him. However, he wanted to keep a very close eye on him. He decided to climb the tree and sit on the branch near Iguro, who stirred awake a bit. He looked at Giyuu with a tired look, but surprisingly didn't make any sarcastic or rude comments.
"Hey, Obanai. Be careful, sitting like that is a bit dangerous, okay?"
"...kay.."
Obanai just yawned and collapsed onto Tomioka's shoulder. Giyuu made a surprised sound, but decided to allow it and let Iguro sleep. He really needed it.
Uzui and Rengoku were walking and talking nearby, Uzui kept making very dramatic movements when telling his story, which seemed to entertain Rengoku a lot, as he kept laughing at him. Uzui wasn't looking at where he was going, and ended up bumping into the tree which Obanai was in. Unfortunately, Tengen just had to be tall with a heavy build. Obanai wasn't weak, but he was a lot smaller and not as strong as the higher ranked hashiras, but Tengen's sudden collision into the tree caused him to fall. Giyuu managed to stable himself, but he couldn't grab onto Obanai in time.
"SHIT- TOMIOKA!" Iguro yelled as he fell to the ground, hitting himself pretty hard in the head on collision. Giyuu didn't waste any time jumping from the tree, expertly landing on his feet like a cat before looking at Iguro. Tengen just stared with wide eyes, he didn't expect Obanai to fly out of there. Rengoku just placed his hand over his mouth in a shocked manner and looked a bit guilty. "IGURO!" Tomioka rushed to Iguro and knelt down to his level, Iguro was still a bit fazed. It only took a few seconds for him to realise how much pain he was feeling on his forehead, and he couldn't deny the fact that it really hurt. It hurt so much that he started to feel himself getting choked up... wait, shit. He can't be regressing, not right now!
"Seriously? Watch where you're going next time Tengen!"
"Ohh shittt." Tengen looked like he felt extremely bad, before looking at Iguro. Rengoku just looked at him with a worried look, fiddling with his hair.
"Hey man, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking, are you-"
Without a warning, Obanai started crying. Really loudly. He was wailing and hiccuping while holding his forehead with both hands. His tears were dampening his bandages and he was shaking from crying.
Rengoku rushed over to Iguro and tried hugging him and rubbing his back, apologising to him for absolutely no reason at all. Tengen also tried apologising to him repeatedly, although it didn't seem to work.
The hashira were aware of Obanai's regression, and it became quite obvious to them. Tomioka just sighed and picked Obanai up, who was just starting to calm down, but was still crying silently.
"...I'm taking him to my estate, he needs to unwind a bit. I'll see you guys later."
Tomioka said bye to Rengoku and Uzui before making his way to the water estate. Obanai had stopped crying, but he still sniffed a bit. Once they made it, Giyuu sat Obanai down in his room and checked his forehead, he brushed back his bangs and saw a rather painful looking gash on his head. It had stopped bleeding, but the blood dried to his skin, thankfully it wasn't deep. Giyuu got a rag and doused it in a medicine to kill the bacteria in the cut. It stung and Obanai started crying again, which caused Giyuu to try and speed up the process. Once he was done, he bandaged the wound.
Giyuu found a white striped hair clip and pinned back Obanai's bangs so that the injury wouldn't be too irritated. Once Giyuu was done, he looked at Obanai's bandages and saw that they were still damp from when he was crying.
"Hey, Iguro, can I remove your bandages?"
Iguro hesitated, he didn't want Giyuu to get scared of him, or even worse make fun of him and call him something bad. He thought for a while before eventually nodding. Giyuu brought his hands to his face and slowly started unravelling the bandage. Once he was done, he found some new bandages before looking up at Obanai's face to see a long, jagged scar travel from one ear to another. The scar tissue seemed bumpy and calloused, which contrasted with he smooth, soft skin. When Iguro saw how Giyuu was just staring with awe, he mistook it with a glare of disgust. Being in a 3 year old mindset, it really scared him, and he ended up hugging Giyuu and crying.
"I sorry yuu! It look bad, I no pretty-"
"Shh, Iguro. You're a very pretty baby, you don't look ugly at all. Those scars aren't ugly, they just show how strong you really are."
Giyuu held Iguro in his arms and attempted to soothe him by rubbing circles on his back. He was aware of how sensitive Iguro could become when he regressed, but it wasn't his fault. Once Iguro calmed down, Giyuu pressed a kiss on his head, making him giggle a bit. Giyuu smiled and looked outside. It wasn't too dark yet, so they could have a bit of time together. Kaburamaru saw the entire thing and rubbed himself against Iguro's cheek, making Iguro giggle again. Giyuu also chuckled a bit and got up for a moment to find Iguro's teddy bear, which he accidentally left behind. When he found it, he knelt back down near him and revealed it, making the little light up and take it, hugging it and smiling. Giyuu got up again to go and set up Iguro's futon while he was still playing. A few minutes went by, and iguro got up and went over to Giyuu and tugged his sleeve.
"Hm? Yes, did you need something?"
"...paci?"
"Oh! Okay, I'll get it for you."
Giyuu finished up the futon and went to go get Obanai's pacifier. He washed it to avoid germs and went back and gave it to him. Obanai gladly accepted it and put it into his mouth, suckling on it gently. It was getting late and obanai was starting to clearly get sleepy. Giyuu noticed this and gently took kaburamaru from Obanai, the snake coiled around his arms. He then put him in a little comfortable space which Iguro set up for him when he came over last time. The white snake gladly went to it and curled up. He then picked up Obanai, who whined a bit in protest.
"Yeah, I know, you don't want to, but I don't want you being grumpy." Giyuu replied back. He laid Obanai down, covering him with the sheets. He then gave him the teddy bear and tucked it in with him. Obanai was starting to get even more tired now, Giyuu pressed a soft kiss to his forehead and put out the oil lamp.
"Goodnight, my little serpent."
