Throughout the rest of Pre-Season Nick was getting small amounts of minutes before being left in the UK to settle properly, this also gave him the chance to get to know Alessia better, which they did, Nick quickly settled in and when the first team came back he gravitated towards KT and Decca's whilst helping Timber communicate, mostly when Havertz wasn't around, when David Raya came in he was one of the first to welcome him to the club, he soon found his own place inviting Less and KT over as his first guests.
Then came the first game of the season, Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest, and Nick was on the bench he didn't expect to be, but here he was

The first half was eventful former keeper Turner just barely keeping Forest in the lead at 1-0 thanks to Brennan Johnson, Kai Havertz came into the changing room carrying a knock after a challenge from Jonathan Panzo

Arsenal have been building up play slowly hoping to find an opening, but Forest have kept their shape and kept being stubborn. Arsenal have possession with Saliba on the ball, he plays long into the chest of Nick who takes it down and wriggles free from Panzo to then play the ball out to Saka who's able to drive at Neco Williams taking it past him and to the byline cutting it back for Nick to take into feet taking a touch past Yates getting the shot off forcing Turner into a world class save winning a corner, Martinelli whips it into the front post where White heads it on towards the Back post where Nick is able to stab the ball into the net getting the equalizer for Arsenal
