Prince In Disguise

PRINCE IN DISGUISE
Prince Haven's POV

Prince Haven walked down the corridor thinking about the letter he had sent to lady Bryanna; he was wondering if he should have gone to her directly. Then a sudden thought came, "What if I do go there, but not as the prince. I want her to love me for who I am, and not for what I am."

Turning the corner he saw his man servant Doogo, and then grinned." Doogo, could I speak to you in my room?"

"You need not ask my lord." Doogo said as he followed his lord down the corridor.

After they had closed the doors to Prince Haven's rooms he said," I need your help with something."

"All you have to do is command my lord." Doogo said not bothering to bow; his lord didn't like him bowing when people were not around.

"You know I don't like commanding your people; I prefer to ask. Well anyway as I was saying, I need your help to help me with a disguise so I can go to my... well, my supposed to be fiancé's house."

Trying to hold in his laugh Doogo said," Of course I'll help you my lord."

"Doogo you know I don't like you calling me "my lord" when people aren't..." The prince began.

"Forgive me for interrupting your highness, but you keep changing the subject." Doogo said this time not bothering to hide his amusement.

"Well, what prince wants people to know he's scared of meeting his Fiancé?" Haven asked looking a bit awkward, "And what prince wants people to know He sent a letter, a straight forward letter to his fiancé; not bothering to go to her himself and expressing his condolences, and asking her a proper proposal?"

Doogo blinked once at his lord, and then began to laugh" It looks to me like you have a lot of work cut out for you my friend."

Haven smiled and said "It's good to have you back old friend."
"Come I have just the thing for you." Doogo said gesturing for Haven to follow him.

The next day Prince Haven's plan was in action, for he was off to the Hillsburry Estate, dressed in a lose fitting servant's garment.

Approaching the shimmering white gates, he peered up at the guard on the tower and said," Excuse me sir, but could I be permitted an entrance?"

"I'm sorry sir but the lady of the house said no commoners are to be allowed in the mansions walls, let alone in the house." The guard said sounding sorry, as if he really meant it.

"But I have important matters to discuss with lady Bryanna," Haven tried again and after a split second of hesitation he said "it's from the prince."

"I'm sorry sir, but the prince will have to come here himself if he want to speak to my lady." The Guard said not backing down even if it meant he had to die.
