"Hi! You must be Sefra," Gordon Bombay said after I entered the ice with all of my gear on. I smiled.

"Yes, I am," I replied.

"Well, what could make you a benefit to our team?" He asked.

"Well, I'd say I'm a good defensemen. I play right. I'm also a fast skater and I have good shooting skills," I told Gordon.

"Great! So why don't you and Guy do a 1v1 and I'll just watch," Gordon stated.

"Sure," I said before heading into the middle of the ice.

"You ready?" Guy smiled.

"I think I can handle you," I replied confidently. He rolled his eyes playfully.

"We'll see about that. Anyways, full check," Guy exclaimed.

We did the check and Guy swooped the puck. I quickly skated up to him and got the puck easily. I skated down the right and did a spinning move to the center as I noticed Guy was right on my tail. I then shot the puck successfully into the net, the puck surpassing the fake goalie thing.

I looked over to see Gordon's face. His jaw was dropped. I think that's a good thing?

"Wow! That was great!" Gordon exclaimed.

"Yeah, I agree. That move was amazing," Guy stated. I smiled at their remarks.

"Thank you!"

"Alright, let's see this defense of yours," Gordon exclaimed. I nodded as I went in front of the net.

Gordon had Guy start from the other side of the ice then skate up to me and try to get by me. We did it three times and I stopped him twice.

"I must say that I'm very impressed, Sefra. I think it's safe to say that you can be on the team," Gordon told me.

"Yes!" I said, throwing my hands up in the air. "I mean, uh, thank you so much, Gordon!"

"You can call me Coach Bombay," he stated. I smiled. "Well, I'll see you when the season starts. And thanks for helping out, Guy."

"No problem," Guy replied. We then skated off the ice and changed back into our normal clothes in the locker room.

"Well, that went really well," Guy exclaimed as we were walking back to our houses.

"Yeah. Thanks for suggesting that to me. Now we're teammates!" I said excitedly. Guy nodded.

"Hey, some of the team is meeting at the park later for some schoolyard puck. You should join," he suggested.

"I'd love to! What time?" I asked.

"At like 7. I'll pick you up and we can walk together. It's not too far from here," Guy replied.

"Sounds great!" I told him as we finally made it to our houses.

"Well, see ya later, Sef," Guy said.

"Later, Guy," I waved as he entered his house. When he was gone, I smiled to myself and entered my home.
