Sarah's POV
She just showed up. Lily had bruises all over her face and she wouldn't even tell me why. I have the god damn right to know. I was so frustrated, but I knew that the way that I stormed off wasn't right. If Lily was going to live with me I needed to fix this.
I climbed out of bed and went towards the door. I opened it and walked down the hallway. I stopped at Lily's door and knocked softly.
"Come in." I hear from the other side of the door.
I turn the knob and walk in. There I see Lily curled up in a ball under the blanket. She looks like a sad little puppy. I sit down at the foot of the bed.
"Hey can we talk please?" I ask her.
"Yeah." She says.
"Look I'm really sorry that I just stormed off a few minutes ago. It's just I didn't expect you to come over. Especially not all cut up and stuff. I understand if you don't want to tell me what happened right now, but I would really like it if you told me eventually. If there's anything you need just come get me." I say with a smile as I get up to leave the room.
"Wait! Sarah." Lily says as she grabs my arm. "Please don't leave." She tells me.
"Okay. Well um..." "He beat me." Lily says. "What?" "My boyfriend. He beat me. That's why I have cuts and bruises." As she tells me this I can see tears starting to form in her eyes.
I quickly go to the other side of the bed and get under the covers. I turn to my side and hold Lily. "No shh shh. It's okay Lil." I rub her back and whisper nice things in her ear.
After she stops crying, Lily looks up at me. "Thank you, Sarah." She's says as she snuggles closer to my body. "Anything for you Lily." I say as I kiss the top of her head and drift off to sleep.
