A tender light struck through the window of Izuku Midoriya's room and set upon his eyes.
A slight twitch can be seen on them, and slowly after the boy woke up from sleep on his own.
He quickly gazed into his favourite Allmoght themed alarm clock that has seemed to lose its purpose ever since the day he awakened his quirk.
He always woke before it could fire off its sound, sometimes just a minute before it did, not that he had any problems sleeping or lacking in it.
It's just that he always started his day so full of energy, at first he didn't know why this was the case but he quickly it dawned on him, it was his quirk.
A quirk strong enough to put him ahead of most of his peers, a quirk strong enough to make even kacchan see him as a threat and somewhat rival.
Ever since their quirks awakened their relationship got awkward, while Izuku was always the one being laughed at for being weak and not being able to keep up.
He's now strong enough to ne considered by them to be able to
"Become the best hero"
He was standing in front of the mirror right after washing his face as uttered those words to himself.
After going through his usual morning routine, eating breakfast and wearing his school uniform he stopped to look at his desk.
Or more precisely what laid on top of it.
'Hero analysis for the future #12'
Looking at that book brought complicated feelings, he couldn't help but try to grab it but every time his hand tried to reach out for it, it slowly came back.
He was nervous.
He didn't want.
"I want to-"
His hand, every time it reached closer it went back even further.
"Be a hero!"
After closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he bit the bullet and picked the analysis book.
He stared at it for a few moments flipping up the pages and looking inside of it.
It almost had most of its pages written out, only two final pages are left untouched.
He hadn't had the motivation nor courage to write down anymore information on this thing.
Today wasn't his first time struggling to pick it up, he does so every morning, and he usually always is able to after he remembers those words.
But staying here too long thinking about everything will get him late, so he quickly put the notepad in his backpack and left his room.
"Sweetie, can you buy a few things for me when you go back from school?"
"Sure mom, what do you need!"
He couldn't help but feel happy and smile at his mom's request, her support for him over the years really kept him going at his dream.
He might not be here today were it not for her.
Sadly he can't say the same about his dad, not that he disliked him in any way, but his dad wasn't ever home to support him, only sending letters asking about how they're doing and money to boot.
Izuku can't be mad at him as his job is what mostly pays the bills here, he just wishes he was around more.
"Here's a list so, have a safe trip!" As she finished she entrapped Izuku in one of her world famous bear hugs.
Izuku could've sworn he heard his bones almost snap there but he was helpless to do anything but return the hug, although not with as much force.
After his mom let go, he quickly got out of the house waving goodbye and dashing towards the school.
Today was career application day and he's quite nervous.
Nervous that he would be laughed at? Nervous that someone will object to his choice?
None of those really.
He was nervous to see whether he'll truly go with what he wishes for.
The thought made him stop in this track, it made him shiver a bit.
But after giving himself a reassuring slap to the face with both hands he got back to it.
On his way to school he witnessed quite an experience.
A gigantic villain attack, not as in a huge crowd of villains but a literal huge one.
He was going around destroying buildings but was quickly gonna be apprehended by the up and coming new rising star or a hero kamui woo-
"HERE I COME!"
Before the spotlight was completely taken by a different rising star, Mt. Lady, drop kicking the villain, and while dealing a lot of property damage finished him off quickly.
Izuku doesn't write a lot in his analysis book anymore, but that doesn't mean he didn't keep up with hero news, Mt. Lady was a woman with a simple quirk, gigantification which allowed her to grow huge to a certain point, nothing bigger and nothing lower.
Seeing her today made him do something he didn't think he'd be able to do for a long time.
For the first time in a while Izuku opened up his analysis book and wrote down.
[Last entry Edition 12]
[Mt. Lady]
His pen was going at an incredible speed, he couldn't help but let the words flow through his mouth, advantages, disadvantages, strong points the person exemplifies, weak ones, he just kept going.
He even had one of his muttering episodes, the ones where he uncontrollably let his thoughts be heard, although so fast you couldn't possibly decipher them if you're a normal human being.
An old man sitting in the crowd took notice of that.
He couldn't help but laugh, but then he quickly grabbed Izuku's attention.
"Hey kid, what's that notebook for"
Izuku, who was still in the middle of writing, got surprised and stopped.
He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head and answered.
"It's an analysis book about heroes I…I love writing them"
This brought a chuckle out of the old man, who quickly responded.
"I see, I see, so you want to be a hero in the future, eh?"
This made Izuku stop for a second, he sat there and looked at the ground.
But a sound caught his ears, he looked towards it and saw Mt. Lady, still hogging the spotlight and waving at the journalists and fans lining up.
He couldn't help but smile, he looked back at the old man and it didn't take long for the answer to come out of his mouth.
"Yes!" Said with as much vigor and excitement as he can at the moment.
The old man laughed yet again, but this time he brought up his arm and gave Izuku a thumbs up.
"I'll wish you luck for your future, kiddo"
The smile on Izuku's face didn't leave, but grew bigger as he bowed down to the man.
"Thank you!"
And went on his merry way, finishing the last few lines about Mt. Lady, the information about what he wrote will remain a secret for now, one that he will probably never share with anyone.
He put back the notebook in his backpack, and with an ever present smile dawning on his face, he continued his way to school.
