Chapter Three
"And this truffle pasta, please. Thank you," I gave a smile to the waitress and handed her the menu when I said my order.
"Oh, and..." Uno leaned closer to the waitress to whisper something to her. I didn't mind because it was probably a special order for him. I looked away and sipped on the glass of water.
When he fixed his sitting position, he looked at me while fixing the crease on his polo shirt.
I invited him over for brunch at Coast '16, a popular restaurant known in Manila for its pasta. I come here frequently because I usually eat pasta when I'm not on my strict diet. If I am, I just order my usual salad.
This served as my apology and gratitude at the same time for bringing my car back to my condo. He made that much effort for a busy man like him. I mean, he could've just asked a driver to do it for him.
"Do you still drink tea?" he asked. I nodded and sat straight. "Hmm, good thing I ordered tea."
"But they don't have tea," I reasoned out. It's true naman! Tea was not in their drink options... which was odd because this was a breakfast and lunch place.
He just winked at me. I secretly rolled my eyes and cleared my throat after. When our food came, I instantly took pictures so that I could post in on social media. The influence that you hold is very powerful these days. Kahit anong restaurant, product, or anything na ipopost mo ay makakaintriga ang mga tao if you're a celebrity.
"Aren't you done yet?" he asked, frowning. He was so atat to eat his glazed chicken and clubhouse sandwich. Aside fron the pasta, I also ordered a donut for my dessert. I deserve this cheat day!
"Wait, just a few more..." I didn't turn my face to him and instead took more pictures. I smiled and put my phone back in my bag when I finished.
"Now the food is cold." He complained and shook his head. I ignored him and gladly swirled the pasta using my fork before taking a bite. I wanted to scream out of joy when I tasted heaven.
"Wow, you really DEVOURED that plate, huh?" he was amused. Heck, he even emphasized the word 'devoured'.
"So, what made you think of—"
"This is not a date!" I looked around to see if anybody was looking.
I did not know what occured to me, but I suddenly cut him off and swiftly covered his mouth with my bare hand. He gently held my hand to remove it from his lips.
"Jeez, I wasn't even going to say that." He rolled his eyes and took a bite of his food. "I was about to say... What made you think of eating at this place?"
I leaned back and pursed my lips. Oh, that was embarrassing.
Well, knowing him! He is such a tease! I would never take him on dates. Cross my heart!
"I just... find their food comforting."
He nodded and glanced at the waitress that was about to serve us something.
"Thank you," I heard him whisper before handing me a cup of tea.
"Is this a special order or something?" I raised a brow at him.
