Deceit: Love shouldn't hurt

Chapter 23

" Divorce!" She was demanding a divorce from him!
" Lagta hai sir pe chot gehri lagi hai!" ( seems like your head has been badly hurt) he said taking a look at her bruise!
" I'm serious Ranvijay! I want divorce!" She demanded yet again.
" Yeh akhri baar hai Ciya jab tum divorce Ki baat karogi , bas!" (This is the last time you are talking divorce, enough of it now) he roared.
" After all that I've seen, you still think I would live with you" she angrily questioned.
" Ciya, what you saw is beyond your understanding ! It's better you stay out of it! " he advised.
" No, not when I could also be one of them! So it was your people who were trying to kidnap me, that's how you came to save me in time, knew where you could find me, isn't it????" She hissed at him thinking about all that had happened. She had been kidnapped and he had appeared out of nowhere to save her! Now she knew the answer to how he had found her!
" Yes, they were my people , yes that is how I saved you, !"he agreed!
" I can't take this anymore, can't stay with you , I'm leaving! " Ciya said getting up from her bed.
"Hey! Stay back and listen to me, you are now Mrs Ranvijay Malhotra and there is no room for divorce in our family! So stop this nonsense Ciya" he threatened
" I can't stay with a man who sells woman like some goods to earn the luxuries of life!" She taunted
" That is one of many businesses we own , not the only! So chill! That's not the only illegal business my family runs, we are into everything wrong one can do!" He said with oozing confidence!
Ciya could only watch him in shock!
He walked to her and sat next to her bed
" Ciya please, don't ruin this beautiful love we have! Forget what you saw like a bad dream! I love you sweetheart! There is no way I'm gonna let you go!" He hugged her holding her tight.
That embrace felt like a snake choking her to death!
She knew he would never let her go, that was for sure, but the revelation about his business brought her goosebumps.
" please, I can't live like this! I'll die!" She requested.
" I won't let you, never!" He said staring deeply into her eyes.
They were still talking when his father walked in.
" Make her understand, and if you can't then let me!" His father said in a warning.
" she's understood well, she wouldn't cause a problem!" Ranvijay assured.
Ciya observed the two in shock. What was even more shocking was the fact that all the other women in the house were well aware of all the wrongs their men were into. But they all were numb!
" why??? Why are you'll quite??? Are you not from. Influential families? Can't you do anything about it???" She questioned all her in laws when the men weren't around.
" you tried, didn't you??? What happened????" One of them questioned
"Besides, their clients are no other than our fathers and brothers and other men in the family! Whom should we punish????" Other said.
" This is a huge network they run and everybody is equally involved! " her mother in law said .
" I can't live this way!" Ciya angrily said.
" Do you think it has been easy for us???? But there is nothing you could do about it for everybody is involved in this shit!" Her sister in law explained!
Ciya knew they were telling the truth! She had seen how the women in the family were treated! She was the only one enjoying a little freedom in the family thanks to Ranvijay!
She had to do something or if he came to know of the child, she knew she would be trapped for a lifetime!
An hour later Ranvijay brought her back home where Amma was waiting for the two! Ranvijay had held her hand and was bringing her inside the house! Ciya looked lost! When they walked in, he made her sit on the sofa and talked to her in a very polite tone!
" Ciya! Forget what you saw and focus on your life, our life! And please don't dare a stunt you did today! You cannot do anything about it!" He said placing a kiss on her lips after saying it. She didn't kiss him back and he realised nothing was as before now!
He decided to give her some time to move on! He walked away to freshen up and change! Amma walked to her and sat next to her
" Beta! Don't destroy your beautiful home for something that is not significant in your life!" She advised and walked away. So Amma knew it too??? She wondered!
The thought of Ranvijay and that godown made her feel nauseous! She walked upstairs into her room and then the bathroom to throw up!
Was it because of the pregnancy? She had seen it in the movies! No she had to hide all the symptoms or else amma would notice!
She walked out of the washroom wondering what could be done????
She had to be cautious and find a safe way to escape!
As she was drowned in her thoughts, Ranvijay came and sat next to her!
" what are you thinking so deeply about? Didn't I tell you to stop thinking of it?" He questioned
" Nothing! I'm thinking of nothing! Please don't talk to me or come before me! I don't wish to see your face! I cannot forgive you for what I saw! " she proclaimed and got to sleep!
Ranvijay was disheartened at her words but he was hoping one day she would forgive him!
He wasn't proud of what he was doing but he had no other option! To keep his father into power, they had to make sure the other party members were taken care of and this even involved keeping them sexually happy! They demanded all such things and hence all these services! They also needed funds for the elections which obviously came from such illegal businesses. He was doing it for his father, his family , he could never see it falling to crumbles with lack of power! He had by now known what money and power could do! It gives you an extreme authority over anything and everything!
He hoped she would let it go and move on just like all the other women in the family!
Little did he know that she was already thinking of ways to get out from this mud pool!
