Sharina Bahía Luna Baptiste"No, Ma you staying there," I heard D5 faintly.
"Ma-" I open the room door and his talking stops.
"I'll stop by later, don't move ya ass," D5 says before hanging up.
"Slim," I say, walking to where I hear his voice. When I find him he's in the kitchen with our to-go orders from IHOP.
I step to his side and clasp him into a hug, my face touching his bare torso.
"Fuck wit' you, ya sleep good?" he asked, lifting me slightly, bringing me into a full hug.
I shrug, not knowing how to feel. For a second I forgot how I got here but the memory of the day came back.
Letting go he said, "Sit ya ass down, I'll bring the food." He pointed to where the dining area was.
Sitting at the table I put my head down waiting for the food. I'm so tired but the reason I woke up was because my stomach growled and it hurt.
Slim didn't come out for a while so I found my phone to text my mom I was okay. It was 3:30 in the morning and I hadn't spoken to her since this morning.
I know she's pissed.
Mamá
Mamá I'm good I fell asleep I'm at my friend's house. You don't have to worry.
Worry my ass! I beat you with a shoe when you come home!
Love you too!
I shake my head in disbelief. She can't even say, 'I'm glad you're safe.'
Dee comes with the food and sits next to me. I pick up the fork and start eating.
We sit in comfortable silence. It's not like we're mad but we're not okay, well I'm not okay.
"Slim," I start, "I was really excited for today, to see you play football. Everybody was telling me how good you play and you do play good but then you left."
"And when you made the touchdown I was so excited. You even looked at me. You did look at me, right? Because Destiny-"
"Who else ya think I was staring at?" he interrupted.
"Well, Destiny-"
"Destiny what? When have I ever willingly talked to that bitch?" he grumbled.
