For a minute, we just stood there staring at each other. It was obvious he was surprised, you could see the shock on his face. I probably looked like some rag doll to him, all banged up, I know I felt like one. After that shockingly long minute, he finally spoke.
"You do realize I'll have to kill you now." His voice was as smooth as silk, like walking on clouds! He also had an extenuated Australian accent.
I continued to stare at him as many different emotions flicked across my face. I felt the fear, the sadness, the helplessness, then the shock of his statement finally hit home. I was already almost killed tonight! How could this man, in MY home, dare say he is going to kill me?! Ahh, finally the anger shows up. This is my home, damn it! I will not stand being killed in my comfy little lake house for Lexie to come home and find me in a pool of blood! What is going on with my life? I really wish I still had the unfeeling shock of before, but now I am scared shitless.
Apparently he sees my fears and starts to laugh. It isn't an evil laugh or a crazy laugh, it was just a regular, plain ole' laugh. It was actually kind of sexy, and my guess is, is if the ski mask was off, it would transform his face to the face of an angel. Wait, what am I saying? This man is robbing my house and I'm standing here thinking, Oh, listen at how sexy he is and dream about what his face looks like! This man was really pissing me off, so I turned up the haughtiness.
"And what do you think you're laughing at, Mister?" I replied with a force calm, through clenched teeth, and a cocked eyebrow. Which as soon as I raised, I realized I had made a mistake. I had forgotten about my cut and the movement made a pain shoot straight through my body. I didn't cry out in pain though, as I wanted to, because that would show weakness in front of the enemy.
"Why, ma'am, I am laughing at you. Your emotions are so easy to read, like an open book. I just saw every emotion that went through your head. Oh, and I was just kidding about killing you." He chucked with added on to my fuel.
"Yea? Well I think I have a right to feel those emotions considered there is a robber in my house! Robbing my things!! And how dare you lie about something so serious!" I yelled at him with a finger pointed in his direction.
"Well, yes, I supposed so. And obviously, that is what robbers do, rob things. And as for the seriousness, I think you're going a little overboard." He said the last statement with a smirk. A smirk! Of all things! This man seriously has problems, I think to myself. Then, yet again, who am I to talk about him when I'm just standing here having a conversation with him?
"You do realize I have every intention of calling the cops, right?" I replied smartly, as in saying 'haha, you're caught!'. I walked over to the cordless phone, keeping my eyes on him, and reached down to pick it up. I pressed the 'talk' button and said," Oh, and when the cops get here, I do hope you plan on returning my things and cleaning up my house. Hopefully, you will get at least a year for this." I said, trying to be intimidating. But why did my heart sink when I thought about this handsome stranger and robber being sent off to prison at my hands. My hands? It's his hands that broke my door knob! His hands that trashed my place! His hands that's stealing my stuff! What in the world is wrong with me? Why am I trying to defend this dangerous man? I could tell he wasn't in a laughing mood any more, for his smirk had disappeared, his eyes gone cold.
"Don't you dare press a button on that phone," He replied coldly. I tried to shake the sudden coldness that swept over me.
"Fine," I said with my nose in the air, "If I don't call the police, will you at least give me my stuff back?" I asked reasonably. Obviously, this was a stupid question. But at the time, I was basically not all in the head.
"Sure." He replied handing me the sack he carried. It was surprisingly light, considered it had looked bulky and heavy when I had seen it thrown over his shoulder. What in the world? I thought. What kind of robber was this? He steals my stuff, then hands it back to me. Any different robber would have ran!
"Thank you. Now will you please leave my home? I have had a long day and now I have this to deal with." I stated. He probably had already noticed my scratches and bruises, but now he really looked me over and he said was, "You should probably go see a doctor." as he walked out the door.
At least he was gone, I thought as I locked the dead bolt on the door. I took the sack and sat down in a nearby chair. I opened the bag and just stared. As soon as I realized what was in the bag, I burst out laughing. Of all crazy, low-life, robbers in the city, why this man with emerald eyes? For heavens sake, he was going to steal my TRASH!

Well, this chapter is longer. I actually like this chapter! Haha, I actually kinda laughed along with the robber. Wonder what his name is? I think I'll keep you in suspense of that. Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday, so I might or might not write, but hopefully I will because I am having a really good time writing this! I hope you're having as much a good time reading as I am writing!
