From Enemies to lovers to lovers to strangers 

Chapter 2

More people started to show up like family and friends to everyone. Even my mom and dad came which I didn't know would happen. Only me bill Tom Gustav and Georg knew the baby was a girl so the gender would be revealed to. There was a small white cake with pink and blue details on it. Me and Tom still hadn't spoken a word to each other and I could tell he wanted to talk to me but I was here for Sarah not him. We cut the cake and did presents and the usual games you play at a baby shower like how much it will weigh and stuff like that.

The end of the party hit and I said my hood byes and Georg was going to take me home since bill was low on fuel but when Georg went to start his car it wouldn't start. Turns out him and Gustav went racing with there cars and Gustav got his license taken away and Georg had fucked his motor. Long story short I had to stay the night. The train would take me hours to get back and it was late as it is so I had no choice. We all sat downstairs except from Tom who was in his room. We where all drinking 'apart from Sarah' and talking. "So Tara why did you stay in Germany and not leave like you wanted to?" Georg asked. I decided I would just tell them that I was struggling "actually I am really tight with money and have been since I left but I have managed up till now" I replied "oh why didn't you say something you know we would of helped you out!" Bill said and put his hand on my knee. I gave him a small smile "you know me I don't like asking for help and hey I have made it this far" I said and bill gave me a look. "Tomorrow before you leave I'm giving you some money I don't care if you don't want it I can't sleep easy knowing who could be out on the streets by next week" he said and I tried to refuse but he wasn't having it. "Take it as a gift I want to give it to you Tara, helping out a close friend" bill said and gave me a tight hug. "Thank you" I wished in his ear and he gave me a nod. Everyone called it a night and went up to bed and I got comfortable on the sofa. It was more comfortable then my bed back home so I was happy. I heard someone coming downstairs, I didn't think anything of it maybe someone was getting a drink or some food I thought and kept my eyes closed. I felt someone tap my shoulder so I opened my eyes and saw Tom stud over me. I jumped slightly at how close he was and was about to tell him to fuck off but he put his finger over his mouth telling me to be quiet. "What do you want!" I whispered "I can't let you sleep down here" he replied. I gave him a confused look "well where am I meant to sleep then" I asked "you can sleep in my bed I will sleep down here" he replied. I shuck my head "I'm good here" I said and laid back down. "Tara" he said making me annoyed I just wanted to sleep. "Just go and sleep in my bed so your comfortable" he said. I just listened to him and got up so he would leave me alone. He laid on the sofa where I was before and I went up to toms room. I slowly walked up the stairs taking in the house one more time before I left again for good. I went over to mine and Sarah's old makeup room and looked inside. It was now a baby nursery all pink and gray with a big white baby bed in the middle. It had an elephant theme with pictures of elephants and toys scattered around the room and a small pink and gray checkered blanket folded over the bed. It had different shades or pink and gray on it.

I smiled at the way it all looked and shut the door and continued to toms room. I opened the door and all I could smell was Tom. The room looked the same just a bit messy since I wasn't there to clean it for him like I use to. I walked over to the bed which had the same soft black velvet sheets on. I got into it and all the memories came back. Like when he showed me around for the first time and the grate sex we would have in this bed and all the nights we would cuddled before we fell asleep. I forgot how comfortable toms bed was and was actually happy he offered me to sleep in here. I quickly fell asleep remembering all of the memories.

I woke up around 4am to someone moaning in pain. The worst flew through my head. What if Sarah fell down the stairs getting a drink or something. I quickly got up and ran out into the hall and it was coming from bill and Sarah's room. I knocked on the door and opened it and saw bill packing a bag and Sarah bent over the bed in pain. Was it time? I thought and bill noticed me. "Oh Tara can you take Sarah down to my car her water broke!" He said shoving a bunch of things into a bag. "Oh Yh sure!" I said and went over to Sarah. She was in a lot of pain. "Shit my car is out of fuel" bill said "we need to take toms car can you wake him up?" Bill said with a pleading look on his face. "Yh ok be right back" I said and went to wake up Tom. Grate now I need to talk to Tom again I thought as I went downstairs and over to where Tom was. I shuck his shoulder as I said his name. "Tom, Tom get up" I said as he opened his eyes confused "huh what?" He said and I rolled my eyes "get up Sarah's water broke and we need to take your car" I said and he stud up "ok" he said and looked for his keys. Bill and Sarah had come downstairs and bill was struggling with the door since he was holding up Sarah and had the bag. I grabbed the bag off of him and opened the door for him and they went out side. I turned to Tom "keys" I asked and he gave me a confused look "I'm driving bill isn't alone to drive my car" he said making me roll my eyes at him. So petty I thought and I went over to toms car. Tom unlocked it and bill helped Sarah into the back. Sarah had laid down so I had to get into the front with Tom. He started to speed to the hospital as me and bill where making sure Sarah was ok.

We got to the hospital and Sarah got rushed to a birth room. Me and bill here with her the hole time and Tom was waiting outside. Hazel was born an hour later at 5:35 am and she was beautiful. The name suited her perfectly since she had bills brown eyes and Sarah's brown hair.

"She is beautiful Sarah" said said as Sarah held her in her arms. Tom came in with bill after bill went to get him. Sarah moved hazel so Tom could see her better. "She is-" Tom said and bill finished for him "perfect" he said. She wasn't crying like most other baby's would be. She was sleeping on Sarah's chest. Probably because she could hear her heart beat in Sarah's chest. I held back tiers as I saw how Sarah and bill looked so happy with her. They where the perfect family. The nurse came in to check on Sarah and the baby. "How is she?" The woman asked with a smile "perfect" Sarah replied. The nurse was such a nice woman she was a small curvy black woman and was so nice to all of us. She even told Sarah some trucks to help her get hazel to sleep through the night better. Her name was ocean. "I am going to teach Sarah how to Brest feed now so everyone but the farther will need to step out for a few minutes" she said and me and Tom went out into the waiting are. "She is beautiful isn't she" Tom said as we waited "she really is" I replied and tom smiled "I want a kid in the future" he said " I hope you get your wish" I replied. Tom had always go on about wanting a baby and how he wanted me to be the mother when I was with him. "So how is your life going?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders "normal I guess" I replied and he looked unsatisfied with my answer. I wanted to ask why he did that to me, why he lied and went off and kissed another girl. But it wasn't the time for it. Sarah had just had a baby and I was here for her. "She needs you you know" tom said turning to me. I looked at him confused "who Sarah?" I asked "yes Sarah, ever since she got pregnant she has been talking about you and her raising her to be a strong woman and right now she needs you there by her side, you can't leave today especially now that she had the baby" tom said. It pissed me off because he was right I couldn't just leave now she needed all the help she could get more then ever, she had tom bill Georg and Gustav but she wanted me, her best friend by her side. "Fine I will stay for her and only for her" I said making it clear to tom I wouldn't be anywhere near him.

10 minutes passed and Ocean came out to me and tom "you can go back in now" she said with a smile and we stud up and walked over to the room. "How did she do?" I asked and Sarah smiled "she got it instantly!" She said making me smile. "That's good" I said "I'm going to stay over night with her so you and tom can go back and get some sleep" bill said, I didn't want to leave her but it's one person who can stay overnight and I figured bill would be the one to stay since he is the dad. I said my good byes and told Sarah I would stay for a month or 2 to help with the baby and she was extremely happy about it.

Tom drove us home and we sat in silence the hole way. It was about ten to seven in the morning now and I needed to sleep. We got back and I went to go back to the sofa but tom offered his bed again and I took it. I was nice of him to do that but I kept remembering why I left in the first place. I went up stairs and went straight up to bed. I didn't bring a spare change of clothes so I had to sleep in the same clothes I had on before. I figured I would borrow some of Sarah clothes in the morning. I know she wouldn't mind so I fixed my hair and got back into toms bed that still had a strong smell of him on it.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
