—-Thalia POV—-
"C'MON EVERYONE, CHIRON WANTS US TO HELP decide who's going on the quest." Percy said as he walked in the door.
Everyone who'd been sitting in the lounge when he'd walked in looked at him.
"What?"
"We were just discussing that." I told him.
"We aren't sending eight Warriors guys. We're sending four Warriors and four campers, and there's nothing you can do about it."
"Fine." Skylar said. "I guess I can work with them, as long as - what're their names? Zach and Annabell?"
"No, it's-" Skylar cut Nico off.
"Whatever. As long as The blonde and her boyfriend don't come, I'll be fine."
"Yeah, same." I agreed. "I don't hate the other immortal campers. They did say they were under some kind of spell. It's looks like only Annabeth and Zach are under it still."
"Wouldn't it be ironic if the gods had been under a spell all their lives?" Percy asked as everyone stood up to follow him to the Big House.
"What gives you that idea?"
"They were nice to us when we first arrived." Percy said bluntly.
"Ehh, people change." Kat said quietly. I looked at her.
"They're not people. They're gods."
"Gods can change."
"I used to think that too."
"Gods can dream, and they live a day-to-day life, therefore, they can change. They do it all the time too."
"What?"
"They have changed many times over the many millennium, and they will keep changing for many more. They reflect the culture they are manifested in, whether the people believe in them or not. You can see it in they way they dress, what the cultural normalities are, what they are into, how they like to spend their time, and even how they disguise himself to fit in. If they still used the same disguises as when they were in Ancient Greece, they would be so odd and out of whack to the people of present day that Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter would be things of the past, and Camp Olympia would never have existed. They may still wear their Greek or Roman robes on Olympus, but they never wear them in the mortal world. The robes were the first things they ever wore, and putting them on again probably reminds them on 'the good old days', I'm sure."
"I never thought about it that way." I said.
"I thought you hated the gods?" Zoë asked.
Kat sighed. "I hated the gods of my time, and how they were when all the rest of you ended up with Chaos. But today's gods are... well, they're difficult to hate. I'm just... indifferent to them now I guess. I'll always have a grudge, but if I have to, I suppose I can work with them, and their offspring."
