"Hey."
It was almost one at night and there seemed to be the liveliness of Chand Raat here, with me and my siblings wide awake. Currently, I stood in Arsal's doorway.
"Hey." He was typing away on his laptop.
"What are you up to?" I asked. "Working from home?"
He looked at me over his shoulder. "I'm writing."
I walked over to sit on the edge of his bed. "Anything special? You look so focused."
"I'm writing a story."
My eyes widened in excitement.
"Calm down. You're not reading it." He said.
"Come on. I'm your favourite sibling! Let me read!"
"Did the heat from your holiday destination expand your head?" He asked, grinning.
"Please? Sneak peek?" I pouted.
He sighed. "You will get to read it, but at the right time. Not right now. But you'll be one of the first ones to read it, I promise."
I smiled. "Okay, I respect that."
"Thank you." He spun his revolving chair around so he was facing me. "Thank you for the journal. I really like it."
We'd gotten him a faux-leather old-style journal because of his love for writing.
"I thought of you the minute I saw it." I looked carefully at him. He had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was longer and messier. Arsu had always been a bit of an introvert, but now it seemed like he had pulled himself away from the world even more. "All good with you, Arsu?"
"Yeah." He turned back to face his laptop.
I stood up. "Whatever it is, you can talk to me if you want."
"I know, Appi. Thanks." He smiled at me.
I headed out of his room and as I passed by Rohaan's room, I saw the door was slightly ajar, so I reached in sneakily and turned his light off.
