shinobu had just arrived back at the butterfly estate from a mission where she fought against a weak demon, who had underestimated her for her petite body and her thin sword.

"shinobu!" aoi shouted looking for her, while running threw halls. "yes aoi?" shinobu knew aoi was very independent so if she asked for help, she would comply. "it..it's tomioka.. he's hurt badly.. h..he might not make it!" she was completely out of breath, shinobus eyes widened and she cursed under her breath while running toward the room tomioka was in.

Tomioka was coughing blood, laying in the bed he always ended up in, right in his favorite estate beside his own, the butterfly estate, where the insect hashira lived. although he hated to admit it, he had grown feelings for the annoying little insect, even if she continued to tease him.

Tomioka has 3 broken ribs, a broken wrist, a damaged right eye, and a broken ankle, he was in very bad shape, but the worst part, was the giant wound on his chest, that bled through the thickest bandages, as it was quite deep, no breathing technique could stop the amount of blood running out of it.

"tomioka!" he heard his favorite hashira yelling his name, and smiled slightly. "kocho.."

"tomioka!" i ran into the room, and saw him in bad shape. "kocho.." he whispered out with a smile.

"i should've gotten here faster i could've.. i could've helped!!" shinobu began to ramble and she forgot to ask how he was. "kocho it isn't your fault.." 'what. why is tomioka comforting me he's the one hurt!!' shinobu thought to herself.

"i'm sorry.. are you okay..?" she whispered out, as she walked closer to inspect the damage. "no.. but it's okay." he smiled, a real smile. "as long as your the last thing i see when i go, it's okay."

G I Y U U

tomioka just smiled up at her, knowing his time was coming soon, and he should probably tell her quickly. "don't say that tomioka!" she yelled out, her eyes wet.

"kocho.. i'm sorry i.." he paused, as he coughed up blood once again. "i'm sorry i waited so long to tell you.. but.." he was trying to make the words out, but he was losing consciousness as he spoke.

"don't speak!!" she was crying, she had no idea when or how, but in this moment, she knew. Shinobu Kocho had fallen for the water pillar, Giyuu Tomioka.

all she wanted was for him to live, but not all dreams come true. "i love you shinobu." he spoke, in almost a whisper. kocho fell to her knees at that statement.

"tomioka.. i..i love you too..!" she was screaming, she didn't want to lose him, not now. "please don't die!!" tomioka just smiled at her as his eyes slowly shut.

the only thing running through her mind and the last memory she had of the man she loved..

"i love you shinobu."

i hope you enjoyed, this was originally supposed to be a fluff but i ended up making it angst sorry for that..
