Chapter 11: The interview

Freddy was excited. "Another concert? I love the fun we have performing!" He looks at Gregory. Gregory stares at Freddy curiously. He looks at his friends. "The manager asked me to do an interview." Chica, Monty and Roxy were worried and skeptical. "The manager has a plan." Says Chica. Freddy tells the group "I'll leave Gregory with the Daycare Attendant. I'll pick him up after the interview." He looks at his friends. "We'll get this concert started." The group nods "Right."

Freddy looks at the Daycare Attendant. "Will you watch over Gregory while I meet with the interviewer and perform?" The Daycare Attendant said "I'll watch over him. Good luck." Freddy said "Thank you." The Glamrocks go to their concert while the Daycare Attendant goes back to Superstar Daycare. There were kids playing games, riding slides, playing in ball pits, and doing arts and crafts.

The Daycare Attendant goes to the crib area and places Gregory in the crib. The toddlers who played with Gregory earlier ran to the crib. "Is Gregory gonna play with us?" The Daycare Attendant looked at the toddlers and answered "Gregory has to stay here for a bit. I can play with my friends if you want me to." The kids cheer.

A daycare worker noticed the baby with Sunny. "Who's the baby?" Sunnydrop answers "This is Freddy Fazbear's son, Gregory." The worker and his fellow daycare workers had shocked looks on their faces. But unlike how when Lucas was shocked but thought the animatronics changed, the Daycare Workers had worry on their faces. "Why do you look scared?" Asks a toddler. "Did you lose your coffee?"

The Daycare Attendant read their faces. Some daycare workers may have known Freddy adopted a child after he announced it in the daycare. But knowing how Moon and the Glamrocks animatronics harmed the security guards, he could understand they were afraid. "We'll make Freddy's son Gregory's experience fun and safe." Says a daycare worker. He was nervous.

"You don't need to be nervous." Says the Daycare Attendant. "We can have fun." He grabs a Mr. Cupcake plush. "Freddy isn't a scary animatronic. He and the others had a virus in them, but they are cured." The daycare workers are hesitant, but they nod. Sunnydrop heard Gregory cry and picked him up. "You hungry Gregory?" Gregory's fists are closed, and everything seems fine. Sunnydrop rocked Gregory gently, and he's still crying.

Sunnydrop tries to think. Maybe he wants to play. He grabs a Freddy toy and gives it to Gregory. Gregory stopped crying and held the Freddy plushie. "You miss your dada?" Gregory hugged the Freddy plush toy. Sunnydrop smiled. "I am sure he misses you too."

An interviewer was asking the Freddy Fazbear robot and the manager. "It's shocking that a Freddy Fazbear animatronic from Hurricane is the first to adopt a child. Normally, humans and robots can adopt kids, but this is the first time one of Fazbear Entertainment's robots adopted a human child." Says the reporter. They held a mic at Freddy. "What is it like to raise a human baby?"

Freddy answered honestly "It's got pros and cons. One of the many pros is that his coos are adorable. One of the cons is-" the manager shouts as he pulls the mic "That animatronics will deal with a screaming baby in the mall. I mean, every new parent went through that." The manager was laughing nervously, fearing Freddy would reveal what he was doing. "I was gonna say a unpredictability. Because it's hard to understand what babies want without reading the signs." Says Freddy.

The manager said "That too." The interviewer asks "What's the best part in raising a baby?" Freddy answers "Hearing Gregory laugh for the first time is the best part." The interviewer asks "You know the baby you adopted is the same baby who went missing after his parents were killed?" Freddy nods "I know. I adopted him to protect him from-"

"Okay, no more questions" Says the manager. "Freddy has to go to a concert." The interviewer asks "But Freddy was gonna say something." The manager said "He was gonna say he's gonna protect the baby from heartbreak. Babies are known to be clingy to their parents." The manager said as he was pushing Freddy. "You can interview me instead. I'm the manager of this Pizzaplex." The interviewer said to the camera "This is unexpected. But at least the baby Gregory is in good hands."

The concert was a success, and the animatronics were having a meeting in Freddy's room. Freddy was thinking as Gregory was in Monty's arms. Gregory reaches for Monty's snout and attempts to squeeze one of his nostrils. It's not working. Monty noticed "Heh heh heh heh, I'll show you where the squeaker is." He pressed a soft spot on his hard snout, between his nostrils. It squeaks. Gregory laughs. Monty laughs.

The Daycare Attendant asks "How was the interview?" Freddy told his friends "It was okay, but the manager interrupted what I was gonna say." Chica said "Sorry Freddy. What were you gonna say?" Freddy answers "I adopted Gregoryto protect him from Vanny and the manager." Chica said "Cover ups. A usual thing in the company. We can help the best we can." The Daycare Attendant mentioned "Gregory laughed at an early age. Usually babies laugh at 4, 5, 6, or 7 months old."

The Glamrocks look at Sunnydrop. "Let's remember the milestones. Gregory had achieved laughter at 6 weeks old. It is implied by the book that babies who achieve milestones early are said to be gifted." The Glamrocks were impressed. "But some babies who develop milestones are normal." Says Sunnydrop. Sunnydrop looks at Gregory. "Then again, I don't know what he'll be like as he grows older. But I do know we need to protect him from Vanny and the manager."

Gregory tries reaching out to Chica. Monty gave Gregory to Chica. Gregiru trying to reach out to Chica's finger. Chica sees Gregory try to reach out and lets him play with her finger. Freddy was reading from the scrapbook Gregory's late parents made. It showed a lot of pictures, but he was focusing on a photo of newborn Gregory with a man with black hair and hazel eyes, and a woman with brown hair and purple eyes. He told the people in the photo. "He's safe."He feels odd. "Why are they familiar?"

Roxanne asks "Should we try to battle the manager?" Monty, Chica, Freddy and Moondrop agree. "Let's beat him down!" Moondrop said in the Daycare Attendant's mind. "We're not fighting him, or else we have new endos and Gregory is placed in an orphanage. Or worse, placed with the manager." Says Sunnydrop. "What we can do is not fight him, but try to expose him." Roxy said "Then Fazbear Entertainment will be exposed, and I don't want employees to lose jobs."

Chica suggests "I have a suggestion. We can give him a warning." Freddy said "For now, we need to make sure Gregory is a healthy, happy and safe baby. We can teach him." Chica gave Roxanne Gregory. Roxanne held Gregory. Gregory honked at Roxanne's nose, and it squeaked like Freddy's. But it sounded more like a party whistle than a toy squeak. Gregory laughed anyway. Roxanne said "At least his laugh is cute." The group smiled. They will make sure Gregory is safe.
