Whitty's Song

[Ruv's POV]

We eat our sandwiches as the sun sets. The view from where we are is amazing. I wish I could cry, because the sight is so beautiful I feel like crying.

I look over at Whitty, who seems to be lost in thought. I call his name and he instantly snaps back into reality. He was a bit embarrassed.

🍪: "You okay, Whitty?"
💣 : "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I'm just...kinda nervous about what I wanna show you."
🍪: "?..."
💣: "During study hall the past couple days, I...have been writing a song, and I wanna play it for you."

Whitty got his guitar out of its case. It's an acoustic guitar, which is kind of ironic cuz his voice sounds like an electric guitar. He tested the sound with a major chord before tuning it a little.

He then started playing this soft melody with phenomenal fingering. He looked up at the slowly darkening sky. It looked like the same colors as our quilt.

Some birds flew by gracefully as he played. After a minute or two, he started humming a bit before inhaling and singing the lyrics to the song. I stared at him in awe.

"He has such a beautiful voice..."

I ended up acting as background vocalizations during the chorus and improvised by making up my own verse. The ground vibrated ever so slightly, but that didn't bother us. Whitty looked over at me, surprised I had such a good voice too. We harmonized at the second chorus, me putting my hand on his.

After the song ended, we locked eyes, slowly getting closer. Suddenly, Whitty had tears in his eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing," he sniffled with the cutest little smile in the world, "This is the happiest I've ever been in my life."

Whitty hugged onto me while crying happy tears. "I love you so much," he sobbed. (I started crying while writing this parttt, omggg TwT)

I couldn't help but hug onto him and start crying as well. Whitty didn't expect this. He patted my back as I shed tears of happiness of my own. I just decided to let it all out, I guess.

We hugged and cried for a good amount of time before calming down. Then we made out as a result of that tender moment.
