Years later after announcing that the two newly mated couple, Kiri and Rotxo, were due to have their first child, the village seemed ecstatic. Everyone had been more opened and acceptable of the unique Navi and the "normal" Navi and just wished the two luck and longed many blessings for the family to have success in the future.
During Kiri's pregnancy, the first few months were rough. Kiri always seemed sick in the early mornings until the late afternoon..it was probably due to being a special kind of Navi in Eywa's eyes..but that was the least of Rotxo's concerns. Rotxo stayed by Kiri's side all day and until eclipse; sometimes into early dawn just to make sure Kiri was fine and comfortable.
When the middle of the pregnancy reached, everything was toned down a bit. Kiri had some mood swings here and there, more cravings, a little bit nauseous, and a bit more tired than before..but Kiri knew she had nothing to worry about as she knew she had the most caring mate right beside her. Kiri's bump was big and the one thing she loved out of this pregnancy thus far, was whenever Rotxo would tell jokes, stories, and just generally ramble on to their kid. It was so cute and dumb at the same time, but that's what Kiri loved about it. She loved Rotxo a lot and she was so glad to have his kid..because Kiri knew their kid will have the best father that'll love and care for them.
As Kiri was nearing the end of her pregnancy, it was also the time to pick out names. Kiri and Rotxo were sitting in their shared marui as Rotxo was cooking up something for Kiri to eat and Kiri had her head laid on Rotxo's shoulder.
"Hey Ro?" Kiri started to ask. "Yes Kiri?" Rotxo answered, sparing a glance to Kiri through the side of his eye. "Do you have any names you want to name our kid?" Kiri asked as she rubbed her belly. Kiri lifted her head and faced Rotxo. She snorted out as Rotxo seemed to be really excited about the question. "I'm guessing you do, right?" Kiri chuckled out, smiling at her mate. Rotxo nodded with a wide smile. "I do!" He happily answered back.
"Hm. If it's a boy, what name do you want it to be?" Kiri asked, raising a brow in question. "Uneoi Te Rotxo'itan." Rotxo gleefully answered, tilting his head a bit. Kiri hummed as she nodded in acknowledgment. "That's a great name, to be honest." Rotxo nodded along. "It was actually my grandfathers name..so it's a really important name for me because my grandmother and grandfather were very close to me as they raised me.." Rotxo softly said, smiling at the memories he imagined.
Kiri frowned a little as she laid a palm on Rotxo's thigh. "Yea..I remember you telling me so much about them and how they took care of you after your..parents died.." Kiri sadly explained, caressing a comforting thumb on the Metkayinans thigh. Rotxo sighed out. "Yeaa..what do you want to name our kid if it's a girl?" Rotxo lightly asked, smiling at Kiri.
Kiri seemed to brighten as her eyebrows raised and a wide smile tugged at her lips. "I want to name her after my mother if it's a girl.." Kiri happily said. "Grace Augustine, right?" Rotxo said, narrowing his eyes in confirmation and if he was saying the English name right. He guessed he was right as Kiri gasped out, chuckling out happily.
"You learned her name?!" Kiri asked, still overjoyed. Rotxo laughed out loud as he nodded his head. "Your father had to help me for like..a month straight to teach me your biological mothers name.." Rotxo warmly said, smiling widely. Kiri seemed even more surprised as she wrapped her arms around Rotxo's neck, leaning it down and kissing his cheeks repeatedly.
When Kiri was at the very end of her pregnancy, everyone was excited for the new member of the family to arrive. Everyone patiently waited for the little baby to come, and along the way, made little pieces of clothing and found many pretty materials to add into the newborn's song cord.
The day arrived and outside their Marui was Tsireya, Lo'ak, their daughter Kxìnäoì, Ao'nung, Neteyam, Tuk, Tonowari, and Mìlutx; inside their Marui, there was Neytiri, Jake, and Ronal all helping out with the coming of the birth; as Rotxo was tightly holding Kiri's hand. After an hour of painful yells, hisses, and screams, their child finally popped out. Kiri let out a long breath as she closed her eyes, feeling her head be cradled.
"You did it Kiri..our child is here. I love you so much." Rotxo softly said, comforting Kiri by brushing back the hair that stuck to her forehead. Jake and Neytiri had neared their daughter and congratulated the two on the successful birth. They kissed Kiri's forehead before standing and allowing everyone else in, telling them of the good news. Everyone was overjoyed as they walked in the marui, congratulating the two.
Ronal had came back with a wrapped up baby bundled up in a woven wrap. Everyone's attention was drawn to the baby being held in Ronal's arms. "Congrats..you have a baby girl." Ronal happily announced, smiling a little. Everyone cheered in joy and most importantly, Kiri tiredly smiled wide at her newborn daughter as Rotxo looked like he was on the verge of tears.
"She has the Omaticayan's tail and eyes, and Metkayinans stripes and curls..a beautiful mix." Ronal had said, gently handing their baby into Rotxo's arms. Rotxo glanced down at his sleeping daughter and he couldn't hold back in his tears, lips trembling as he smiled warmly at his kid. Everyone awed at his reaction, finding it very touching.
"Do you have a name for her?" Ronal asked, as she looked at the new family. Rotxo nodded. "Her name is Grace Te Kiri'ite.." Rotxo clearly said, sniffling soon after. Gasps were heard from the sullies. "As in..Kiri's biological mother..Grace?" Lo'ak had ask, smiling proudly at Rotxo. Rotxo nodded. "Is this why you asked me to teach you, kid?" Jake asked, chuckling a little. "Yes, Mr. Sully..I asked you because Kiri had told me of her mother and I didn't know how to say it, so that's why I came to you to teach me the English name because I figured Kiri wanted our kid to be named after her mother." Rotxo proudly explained. "Wow..I'm glad. Kiri's mother was not just important to Kiri..but to me as well.." Jake warmly said, looking away to keep his tears at bay.
For the rest of the day, everyone sat around the new family, awing and looking over the new baby. Kiri had been asleep in Rotxo's warm embrace as their daughter, Grace, was gently passed around as everyone got to see her.
In this very moment, it was just a heartwarming and joyful moment to experience for everyone. And in this moment, Kiri had awoken from her sleep, immediately met with everyone's smiling faces. Rotxo took back grace and Kiri had sat up a bit, gently reaching out her hands as she took grace into her hold.
"It's a girl.." Rotxo informed, shocking Kiri. When Grace and Kiri met eyes, Kiri almost broke into tears as she widely smiled down at the same yellow eyes she has. "Hi Grace.." Kiri softly whispered, gently brushing back a tiny curl. She lightly lifted Grace up and kissed her forehead. Rotxo wiped some tears away as he held his new family together. "She's really here, Rotxo.." Kiri chuckled out, tearing up. "Yea..she is Kiri..and all because of you." Rotxo softly said, glancing down.
"I love you and Grace a lot. And I'm so thankful." Kiri said, sniffling before glancing up, smiling softly at Rotxo. Rotxo smiled back just as wide as he leaned down and kissed Kiri's forehead. "I love you too and Grace very much. Thank you, Kiri." Rotxo warmly said, kissing her head once more.
