"What do you mean you need to take some time off?"

"I mean I need to take some time off. It's all just a bit too much for me right now and I need a little break from it all."

"And what do you expect us to do while you're on this little break, huh?"

"Yeah! We just finished touring our last album and the public's going to want another one. Do you want us to just sit around and wait for your break to be over?"

"No. I expect you to keep making music. Just because I'm taking a break doesn't mean you need to stop making music."

"You're our main lyricist, Pete, how are we supposed to write songs if there aren't any lyrics to put the music to?"

"I've got that all covered." He pulled out a collection of papers and handed them to Patrick. "I've got at least four complete songs there and then there's a bunch of other lyrics in there that you can piece together and add to to make some more songs. I wrote them while we were on the Monumentour." Joe and Andy walked over to Patrick and looked over his shoulder as he flipped through the papers. "I'm really sorry, guys," Pete went on to say, slowly starting to back out of the room, "I just...if I don't do this now, I-I don't think I'd be able to continue being in a band with you. And I really don't want what happened last time to happen again. This is for the better. Trust me."
