Chapter 2

*Veronica POV*

Tonight was honestly one of the best nights I've had in a very long time, and I didn't even do anything! Van and I just sat around watching movies and eating beef fried rice. I don't know what I'd do without him.

Ok, honestly, when Van and I started to get to be really close, I must admit that I did have some feelings for him. He was, well still is, so handsome and SUCH a gentleman. With his red hair and all those freckles.. I just thought they were the cutest things ever! He's so irish. But all that changed when BOOM, I saw Frank Sinatra for the first time.

I remember every detail of my first encounter with Frank Sinatra. I was at the Apollo Theater in New York. I went to see him live. From the moment that man stepped on stage to the final bow, I was mesmerized. I had a very close seat to the stage so I saw every aspect of what was happening. I let every lyric of every song flow through me. It was amazing. When he started, he really wasn't that good. But as the show progressed and the applause got louder, Frank's voice got clearer and he projected it alot farther. This man, I tell ya.

Afterwards, after the show was over, I went backstage to see if I could have just a little conversation with him. I wasn't able to, but as he was walking out, he looked at me and smiled that big, white, million dollar smile at me. I think my heart basically leaped out my chest at that point. I'll never forget that moment. I've had feelings for him ever since.

Oh god. What am I saying?! I'm getting in way too far ahead of myself. I haven't even talked to the man! No, no. I'm just fangirling. yes, that's all!

Ok, back to Van. Well, I spent the night at his house. Not a big deal considering that's basically my second home. You see, no one really understands Van and mine's relationship with one another. Whenever we're around each other, we just can't control ourselves. We laugh so hard at the littlest things, and I wouldnt change it for the world. But Van and I are so close that we actually have keys to one another's house. Yes, THAT close. One time he called me, and..

"Veronica?"

"Yes?"

"What are you doing?"

"Laying in my bed until I build up my courage to get out from under the covers and walk around my cold house, why?"

"Well, put some clothes on, we're going out."

"How did you know I don't have clothes on?!"

"Really? How didn't I know? Now hurry up, I'll be at your house in 20 minutes."

"But Van, I-"

Line went dead. I could kill him sometimes.

*Van POV*

Last night was amazing. V and I had a spectacular time. well, I did at least. She fell asleep halfway through Peter Pan! Even after a hard day's work, she looked mesmerizing. She had her hair in the most perfect messy bun. She was wearing my sweatpants with one of her tshirts because she didn't bring any pajamas. And may I just say, my clothes look better on her than they do on me.

By the time I woke up, eggs were made for me(just the way I like them, sunny side up), bacon was on the table, and coffee was brewing. I started to look for Veronica when a note on the fridge caught my eye.

"Hope you like your breakfast! Sorry, work called me in earlier than expected. Text me later and let me know what's going on. I think Debbie's having a party. -V."

Hm, there's a party tonight? Sometimes, I just really hate Hollywood parties. Everyone gets sloppy drunk and it's just not fun anymore. But if it's being held at Debbie Reynolds house, well, that's better. Everyone knows not to mess with her. She's a real sweetheart, but underneath there is a huge firecracker!

I love Debbie. Next to Veronica, she's another very good friend. She's absolutely HILARIOUS when she starts drinking. You just can't control her.

I looked at my calendar. Looks like I'm off today. Nothing to do? Yep, another lazy day for me. I texted Debbie.

VJ: So, Ms. Reynolds. I hear there's going to be a party tonight at your place.

She replied almost instantly. That's another thing I like about her, she never takes hours to respond. I swear, that girl will stop the whole movie production process just to respond to a text message.

DR: You heard right! Didn't I tell you already??

VJ: No!

DR: Oh, darling, I'm sorry! You're coming tonight though, right?

VJ: I wouldn't miss it for the world!

DR: Sounds good! Come around about 8:30 or 9?

VJ: Of course. See you then!

Crap. I really don't want to go. Guess who I'll be dragging along tonight? yep, Veronica. I don't mind. I'm proud to have her there, next to me. It makes me feel safe for some reason.
