the group finally made it inside of the venue, successfully getting the flasks in with them as well. they found a table that only sat eight people, pulling two chairs up for the remaining two friends who didn't have a seat.

people were walking around, greeting their friends and talking about the after party at a local airbnb. a lot of people were going to be going, destiny even heard rumors that the beach house next to it would be occupied by another school.

"the food bar is open, the in n out and chick-fil-a trucks will be here shortly." a teacher walked up to the table, informing the group about the food that will be presented for dinner. the group smiled at the teacher and nodded, staring at each other.

"'i'm gonna go get some appetizers, anyone wanna come with?" destiny asked, standing up from her seat. ivy quickly stood up and smiled. the two walked to the food bar, grabbing plates. they knew they would have to get enough because the boys would definitely be eating off of their plates.

"so you and kio?" destiny started conversation, easing the tension between the two girls. a small smile creeped on ivys face, causing her to lift the empty plate in front of her mouth.

"we're just friends." ivy assured destiny.

"do you like him?" destiny asked, taking a step forward in the line.

"of course. not that many people give me a shot at friendship because i'm to myself, and i guess i just sort of got a small attachment to him since we've became friends." ivy explained, looking at the floor.

"i think he likes you too." destiny smiled, getting the tongs to begin putting boneless wings on her plate. she grabbed four and then handed the tongs to ivy.

"what about you and .. i think his name was vinnie?" ivy grabbed some wings as well, putting the tongs back in the tray when she was done.

"oh no." destiny laughed. "i'm dating ezequiel, the tall brunette without tattoos."

"i know, but you and vinnie have a past huh? i can see it in the way you guys look at each other." ivy explained, putting mozzarella sticks on her plate. there were sliders, and those were destinys favorite. she grabbed three and then grabbed a cup of water.

"mm, not exactly." destiny sighed. "vin and i have always been best friends, but at one point i tried telling him how i felt and he rejected me for amelia."

"he .. he did not do that!" ivy rolled her eyes. "you're so sweet, and she's so .. gross and literally a whore." ivy fake gagged. "i've heard such horror stories about her and i don't like her, you're so much better than that." destiny laughed and shook her head. the two girls talked more, walking towards the table.

destiny sat down in between vinnie and ezequiel, scooting closer to ezequiel. vinnie and ezequiel both reached over, taking one of destinys sliders.

"of course out of everything, you would take my sliders." she rolled her eyes. vinnie and ezequiel laughed, reaching over to take her mozzarella sticks.
