"HAYDEN will be attending your birthday party." Dad says at dinner a few days after he announced my marriage to the Vegas Mafia.
"Who's that?" Saffron asks, she still won't talk to me and that pains me.
Dad looks at me like I'm supposed to know who this person is, "Did you open the envelope?" He asks, I freeze and don't say anything.
My heart drops to my stomach at the mention of the envelope, everytime I pick it I get cold feet and put it back.
I gulp slowly, "I haven't." I say lowly and somewhat scared, I can't bring myself to look at his face. I bet on my last penny that he's angry, I expect the worst but nothing comes for a whole minute.
I look at him calmly continuing eating, "You should atleast know the name of the man you're marrying." His voice startles me, looks like I lost my last penny, I was always a bad gambler anyway.
Hayden. I'm marrying this man named Hayden? Bet it was derived from Hades, the God of the underworld.
"Hayden Wraith." Dad clarifies, I wince mentally at the name, it only gets worse, what about the middle name, is it death or equivalent?
"What kind of name is that?" Saffron says distastefully.
"Mind your tone Saffron, he'll be your brother-in-law soon." Dad commands, she clenches her jaw but doesn't say anything.
I play with the food until everyone finishes, I quickly discard the leftover before anyone notices that I barely ate. I'm startled by a hand on my shoulder, I smile at mom who watches me closely.
"Are you going to be fine?" She asks, my body relaxes to her kind words.
"I'll be more than fine mamá, I'll be the Capo's wife." I put the plate in the sink. "I couldn't ask for more."
She searches my face for sometime but I don't let any negative feelings show. "I'm good mamá, you'll get wrinkles if you worry so much." I pinch her cheek softly.
"You don't ever make me worry." She goes to eat, I do the dishes before heading to bed.
I hear faint whimpers and moans from my brother's room which is next to mine. He surely forgot to close the window this time as well, I twist and turn but the sounds keep me awake.
I push the sheets away and walk out, I knock on his door loud enough for them to hear. The door opens and I look at Gio who's lower half is wrapped in white sheets.
"Close the window will you?" I say irritatedly, he smirks glancing back at the open window.
"Sure sister." Gio goes to shut the window. My eyes fall on the naked red head woman who smiles at me knowingly, I feel my cheeks get warm.
"Good night then." I get to my room in light speed, rich people have to be extreme in every damn thing. Sexual pleasure was something very least significant to me, I've only ever slept with my wives for the motive of child bearing, it was never a pleasant experience.
I get under the sheets, my body gets restless as a weird feeling rubs between my legs. I turn to my side clenching my thighs together, my stomach burns with longing.
All night I could barely get any sleep, I get ready and walk downstairs to make myself a nice cup of cold coffee. I step into the garden with the coffee, the morning breeze is warm and playful.
I take off my heels and step on the grass barefoot, it feels like heaven. There are men in black guarding our mansion like house, privacy is never an option, not that I'm complaining. Every coin has two sides but I'm grateful mine had a rich side to it, I don't care about the other side. All my seven lives I had a coin with the poor side, it ruined everything that was possible. Older times poor people where nothing more than slaves or pawns.
