Ok, so my friend Yamoodles will now begin to rewrite my chapter drafts. Before she was only revising grammar now she's going to make it sound more snazzy.

I stood next to my dad, the weight of the situation heavy on my shoulders. We were in front of the entire Olympian council, and I had never felt more threatened in my life.
Actually no, yesterday at 1 a.m., Nico got McDonald's and I ate the happy meal and then he tried to kill me.

We were all just waiting for Hermes to show up. He's my great-grandfather, and he's like besties with my dad, so he knows about me. Finally, Hermes flashes in doing his godly entrance, and he gives me a quick look, then my dad, and takes a seat. But here's the kicker—despite his cool act, I could totally see it in his eyes: he's kinda scared, like deep down.

"And with the threat of Kronos rising, we can't risk another prophecy being unveiled," Zeus finally wrapped up his lengthy speech, which was growing harder to endure by the minute.

Honestly, I had no clue about this prophecy stuff, but there was no way I was gonna let them know that.

"Also, may I remind you of her heritage?" Athena chimed in with her typical snooty attitude.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Hermes crossed his arms defensively.

"Not you—him, you know who," Athena replied, clearly annoyed. Wait, who's she talking about? Voldemort, my long-lost granddaddy?

"Who?" I blurted out.
My dad shot me a look. Ignoring him, I locked eyes with Zeus. He seemed taken aback at first, but then he sort of accepted my mini-staring contest challenge.

"I don't think we should be judging the girl based on the events of a prophecy that no one has even heard of. Let's not forget her mother and grandmother, who were completely loyal to us. Her mom never did a thing to hurt the Olympian council. So, going all judgy on her because of her granddad? If anything, we should be showing respect for offing her innocent mom," Hera, the queen of gods, jumped in, and I could tell there was some backstage drama between her and Zeus, given her slightly red, teary eyes.

Ugh, I felt like barfing.

My dad maintained his poker face, but I could tell he was about to explode.

Dionysus, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Hephaestus were giving their nod of approval. Hermes was nodding away like a bobblehead on steroids. Artemis was eyeing me down if she thinks I'm going to join her eternal girls club, she's out of her mind.
Poseidon was offering me a silent apology, and Athena seemed to have a solid dislike for me. I dared not glance at Lady Demeter because I'd probably burst into laughter. Ares, as per usual, looked completely indifferent.

Zeus clearly wasn't thrilled that nobody was buying into his plan. I was fighting an internal battle not to crack up. My train of thought was rudely interrupted by Zeus's throat clearing.

"Well, let's put it to a vote then. Those in favor of eliminating the threat, raise your hand."

Only Zeus raised his hand.

I was currently laughing my ass while taking the elevator, my dad had a relieved smile on his face.
I decided to lay low for a bit before firing off questions about the whole prophecy and granddaddy fiasco.

Honestly, I needed time to just breathe. As we strolled through the Empire State Building, Athena suddenly popped up, though thankfully not in her battle armor. Let's just say there's a reason she's the goddess of battle strategy and not fashion.

"A few words Thanatos," She said giving a side eye before walking a few feet and talking with my father.
After  5 minutes of them whispering, my dad returned, and Athena vanished into thin air.

"Athena says you have to go school," he mumbled, almost like he was afraid someone else would hear.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, you told her 'no,' right?" I practically wailed, and my dad gave me this kinda nervous smile.

Man, I wished they'd just zapped me.

My dad strolled out of the school's main office, and man, he's gonna be swamped with work after this.

"You start tomorrow," he told me, like, out of nowhere.

"Wow, that was lightning fast. Mortals usually take ages to enroll in a new school. Also, did they even bring up, you know, my uh, not-so-great track record?" I inquired.

My dad laughed, and I couldn't help but grin. He didn't do that much, so it was sort of a big deal. "I pulled a little Mist magic. No way they'd have let you in without it," My dad chuckled at the face I made because of his comment.

"Can we get ice cream? You're already behind on work a few more minutes won't hurt right?"
I gave him my most irresistible puppy-dog eyes. He caved, giving my hair a ruffle and nodding with a smile.
