VIII. A Dinner Blast.
BIANCA WAS NEVER ONE to go back on her word when she had promised to do something, especially when it came to her friends. However, as she stood on the doorstep of the Gilbert household a part of her had wanted to drop that mindset entirely and flee the scene, sending a text of apology to Elena in response. But as the front door was pulled open by none other than the Gilbert girl herself, Bianca discovered that it was too late to turn back now.
"You're early," commented Elena as she let her friend inside, a small spark of shock glittering in her tone that made Bianca roll her eyes. "But I'm glad that you came. You can help us cook while Bonnie tries to convince me she's psychic."
A cry arose from the kitchen, alerting the pair that their conversation did not go unnoticed. Takeout pasta, handmade and delivered by the kind workers at the Grill, was the main course meal for the night with Elena stating that she was eagerly awaiting Caroline's arrival, as the blonde had been entrusted with bringing dessert. "That's if Stefan doesn't find them to be the better option." Bianca thought as she handed Bonnie two serving bowls.
"Last night, I'm watching Nine-O, a commercial breaks come on and I'm like 'I bet it's that phone commercial'," Bonnie recounted, sending Bianca a sideways glance before continuing. "And sure enough, it's the guy and the girl with the bench, he flies to Paris and he flies back. They take a picture."
Elena's eyes widened with recognition of the commercial before a soft chuckle fell from her lips. "Oh, come on. That commercial's on a constant loop."
Bonnie turned to Bianca, raising a brow. The Amorettee teen, from her spot, leaning against the sink counter, could only shrug. "Elena does have a point. That commercial isn't necessarily uncommon to see." Bianca knew what Bonnie was doing or, more so, was using her desire to prove that she was psychic to her advantage. It wasn't that she had found joy in her friend running themselves rampant on an old tale told by her grandmother about their family history, but it also wasn't as if Bianca was going to jump from the gate and tell the Bennett girl "Hey, I think you're a witch, you come from a family of witches, and guess what? I'm a witch too, surprise!" without any evidence to support her claim.
There was another reason behind her methods as well. Bianca remembers the day her father had told her of her heritage, from her ancestors' line of power to the magic that her mother, and she herself, had possessed as a result. She hadn't been in the right state of mind, granted what had transpired before the reveal, so Kenny was met with a wave of rage from his daughter in response. Bianca had demanded why neither of her parents had informed her of this family secret, how her dad hadn't done so following her mother's disappearance, anger bubbling up to the surface and nearly setting the kitchen on fire had her father not stopped her.
