Chapter 3

"Hey Jackie, do you think anyone saw the security following the two of us around."

"I hope not," Jackson sighs,"that would just bring us way too much attention, and people already know that I'm Avery. I'm honestly surprised people haven't found out about you yet."

"Yeah I am too. But it's bound to come out at some point." Meredith knows that it's going to eventually come out and she is going to have to deal with the aftermath of the mess it's going to create.

Now people may wonder, 'why would Meredith and Jackson have security, sure they are Avery's but that's it'. Jackson has less of a reason to have security, but being a brother(in-law) to Meredith means he's very close to her. And being close to Meredith Grey brings unwanted attention.

Meredith Grey is not Meredith Grey. She is Meredith ......... Avery. She comes from a family with a great amount of money.

Her mother Ellis Grey is the daughter of a wealthy businessman, Richard............ . That would make her Ellis ..... . Her grandfather is still alive so he continues to run the family company, and any other companies they own.

Ellis was an only child and the heir to this business empire that runs in their family. But with being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it would be a very bad choice to have her run the companies after Richard's death. That now makes Meredith the sole heir to a lot (a lot x20) of money.

Richard only had one child which was Ellis, who also only had one child. And with no other family member to take over in the event of Meredith's death, Richard thought it best to have security hired for her. Of course it wouldn't be like Meredith would be doing everything, since the board would be doing most of the things but still having Meredith as CEO.

Her grandfather wasn't the only reason Meredith was wealthy, there was another family member that also had money.

Meredith's real father wasn't Thatcher Grey.

It was Marco .....

Ellis went to Italy, where she then got into a short relationship with Marco. What she didn't realize was that she was pregnant with his child. And since she left before she found out and got with Thatcher shortly after arriving in Seattle. And because of that she thought it was his child.

Thatcher and Ellis got married before Meredith was born which helped convince them both that it was Thatcher's child.

It wasn't until Thatcher left them when Meredith was 5, and they moved to Boston, that Marco had suspicions on the child. So when Meredith was 7 Marco arrived on their doorstep, asking for a paternity test. Ellis, who hadn't seen Marco in years, wasn't convinced that Meredith was his but reluctantly agreed.

Marcos' suspicion turned out to be true after the paternity test showed that Marco was her father. After that he moved to Boston, and truly became a father.

Marco has always brought up the idea of getting Meredith security, like him. Since she was not only the heir to all of Richard's success but also his and that put a large target on her back. Since they both made enemies in their fields.

In her senior year Ellis finally agreed to let the men get her security, since Meredith was now older and understood that she was the sole inheritor to all this money and success.

That's how she ended up with 2 men following her everywhere, and probably more that she didn't know about. She moved to Seattle to get a fresh start at everything, so she told her security to make themselves scarce and not to be seen following her.

Jackson, who was also the heir to a wealthy company also had some security, especially since he was known everywhere unlike Meredith.

Their parents agreed to let them take their internship in Seattle, only if they took security, but promised to make them discreet.

"Through all the years we have had the security no one has noticed them, so that's good. Hopefully it stays that way."  Jackson says while sipping a beer.

"Yeah, I can't deal with someone finding out. John and Tim better stay hidden" Meredith says, drinking from the bottle of tequila she has.

"No one's gonna find out mer, it will stay hidden ok," Jackson says trying to reassure her.

After a while of drinking and talking about their days, Jackson takes the tequila from Meredith who is very drunk and takes her upstairs to her bedroom. After he goes back down to clean up the beer cans and the mess they made before passing out on the couch.

A few days later when Meredith is leaving the hospital doctor shepherd stops her and asks her on a date. Until someone shows up.

"Oh come on, one date and you won't regret it. I love you, you don't love me right now but we still have time to change your mind. You will learn to love me, I know it." Dr. Shepherd whines as he keeps taking steps toward Meredith who starts taking steps back.

Her security who see start making their way to Meredith, to get Derek away from her, but she shakes her wrist a sign that she doesn't want them involved and that stops them.

"Dr. Shepherd, you need to stop this. I won't be going on any dates with you ever. Just stay away from me outside of work." Meredith pleads.

Just as Derek opens his mouth to start talking again, a red haired woman shows up and looks at Meredith. "Hi, I'm Addison shepherd. And you must be the woman screwing my husband."

Husband? Husband. He had a wife. This fucking cheater.

"Oh no no no no I'm not," Meredith turns to Addison," that was a one night stand and a mistake, plus I was drunk. Dr. Shepherd over here," she points to Derek," has been harassing me to go on a date with him, when I have shown no interest in him."

And with that Meredith walks away, leaving Derek looking like a kicked puppy and Addison who was impressed that Meredith resisted her husband's charm when many others couldn't.

Meredith walks out with her security in tow a couple feet behind her looking like people that just exited the hospital. And hops in the back of the car with John and Tim getting in the front since today she decided she didn't want to drive.

As they drive back to her house she starts thinking about that woman. Addison Shepherd. Have they met before, why did she seem so familiar? That's when she realizes.

That woman was Addison Montgomery. Shit.
