.Hanni flops down on her bed, still wearing her uniform while staring at the cream colored ceiling. After a minute, her phone kept on vibrating, she starts reaching for it inside her pocket and read the name displayed on it.
It was her Mother, calling all the way back from Australia. Suddenly all of her tiredness and worries starts to slip off her, hearing the voice of her mother brings so much comfort, she's soon followed by her father and her sister who tried to ask her so many questions and the state she's in.
"It's very different here, Oh I also love the bread! And I made friends and other stuff." She tell them, reminiscing the time with her friends.
She starts telling them about Danielle who happens to be from Australia too, and of course her new neighbor. She got scolded instead, saying she's supposed to be nice and to try to get some help from her since she's new and all.
"Do you have a boyfriend theree!?? Are the oppa's very handsome like in Kdramas?" Her sister asked excitedly and Hanni just face palmed herself.
"No but some of them does, to be honest my neighbor looked like one, not the attitude tho. Jeez, I'm not even surprised you'll ask that." She chuckled whilst rolling her eyes
"Our little Hanni, you must study well there, and no boyfriend, okay?" Her father sternly said and everyone just laughs at him. Hanni just nods while doing a thumbs up before all of them started to say goodbye.
"Take care there our lovely girl, if things gets rough, you can always come back here." Her dad says before her mom starts getting the phone from him.
"We're not telling you to easily give up though honey, make your dreams come true. Have fun with your new friends and fix ties with your neighbor, also ask her for some help too since she's close to you." After what her mom said her sister started snatching the phone too
"Yep, stay cool. We should also meet all of your friends sometimes hehe" Hanni scoffs at all of their words, unable to accept all of the sweet things that they are saying, she doesn't wanna look so vulnerable and cry about how she misses them already.
"Of course, I'll do my best here. I love you all. Take care too, bye byee." She waved at them before ending the call.
"Okay, you got this girl!" She said to herself as she stood up on her bed and starts looking around. Her room is still a complete mess, there are still sealed boxes on the corner that needs to be organize.
She starts off by taking a bath and wearing a comfy oversized t-shirt and a jersey short, then tying up her hair into a bun. She cleaned up her bed and fixes the bed sheets before vacuuming the floor to be free from dirt.
Tidying up her room takes most of her energy, after placing her family's picture frame on her study table, she marked her job done. All that's left to do is eating. She's hella starving, but still too tired to do anything after cleaning everything.
She checks her phone and looks at the time, it's already 7:15 in the evening. She have some cup noodles and chips in stored but she's not feeling like eating those after a very tiring day like this.
She got startled when she heard three knocks on her door.
"Who's there?" She asked as she walks towards her door.
"Your neighbor." The person outside answered.
Hanni stops her tracks, suddenly running back to check herself on the huge aesthetic mirror at the corner of her room. She looks like a mess, and very tired with her baby hairs sticking to her dry sweat on her forehead and her nape. She suddenly snaps back to reality once she heard her full name from outside.
"Why the hell do I care about how I look...it's just her" she thought before dashing towards the door and opening it.
"What is it my neighbor?" She teased, squinting her eyes as she stared at the taller girls eyes.
"Can you let me come in first?" Minji asked in an irritating voice, staring at Hanni's eyes then inside her room which seemed very tidy then back again to the shorter girl who is, well...
"How come you look like a mess while your room isn't?" She scoffs, before forcing herself inside making Hanni to stood there in shock before closing the door.
"Excuse me!? Did I let you in wholeheartedly?" She expresses with disbelief,
"Maybe, here take this." Minji handed over a paper bag with a huge letter M that's colored in yellow to the girl who got even more confused.
"You sure you didn't add poison in this?" Hanni opens the paper bag, the smell of fries, nuggets and burger welcomed her nose, to be honest, she's also craving for some Mcdonald's earlier.
"If you wanna die that much there's this one called suicide, don't include me." The taller girl starts touring her room and stared at the picture frames on the desk.
"That's just rude." Hanni answered before eating some of the fries
"Accusing me and not saying thanks is ruder." Minji pointed at the food that Hanni is currently eating while the other girl just rolled her eyes once more.
The two of them just started minding their own business, Hanni kept on eating while Minji just kept on looking around her room. That goes on for a while until Minji spotted a ukelele beside the small wooden cabinet.
"You play?"
Breaking the silence with Hanni finishing off with her last bite of the burger, the girl nodded.
"Since when?" she asked again
"during our music class in elementary school." She casually say before crumpling up the paper bag and throwing it in the trash just near her.
"Hmm, you didn't seem like it." Minji shrugs before sitting at the edge on the bed.
"What? Do I need to wear a shirt with some of
that I ♥️ Ukelele design?" She rolled her eyes again and Minji can't even count how many times she received one."It suits you, I guess." Minji laughed at her
"Now I get why most of them said that they don't get you at all" Hanni sighed before shaking her head as she watched the latter get up.
"It's their loss then I guess. Well, it seems like you finished eating what I gave. I'm heading off now. Goodnight, Pham Hanni." The taller girl smiled at her with still a hint of arrogance on her face.
"Finally, have fun with nightmares. Thanks." Hanni answered before smirking and closing the door. After Minji left, her room got even more quiet as she once again lay down on her bed.
Hanni really hates to admit it but Kim Minji is interesting... also very good looking with her bare face.
