Chapter 2 Part 1

It’d been 2 days since I’ve graduated and absolutely nothing interesting has happened. Even with the boys staying over at my place, nothing.

The boys have been so busy with my dad so of course they didn’t have time to befriend me, and Milly was too busy visiting relatives before we both left for NYU. But according to my father, the boys would have a good week off after today. So I was ecstatic I finally had something interesting to do. But until the day was over, I decided to clean out my closet to prepare for a new college wardrobe.

He whispered, “Hey Rile.” ever so sweetly. My insides melted. I just wanted to stay there in his arms forever.

“Ahem, excuse me Riley, but your dad had to stay for a late night to finish up some papers. He told us to expect him tomorrow morning.” Liam interrupted, unfortunately.

“So we were thinking clubbing?!” exclaimed Louis with the biggest smile on his face.

This was perfect, I’d been at home the last two days and this was exactly what I needed.

I enthusiastically replied, “Sure, it’s 6:05 right now, I’ll meet you all back down here at 7 and we’ll head out.”

I heard them all chuckle as I rushed upstairs to take a quick shower and get ready.

I hopped in the shower and was out in 10 minutes. I wrapped a towel around my head, put my robe on and rushed out of the bathroom into the hallway. Suddenly, I felt my body crash into a solid, warm, chest. I looked up apologetically, of course, it was Zayn.

“Oh goodness, Rile, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” Zayn apologized looking at me with red cheeks. Aw, he was blushing. He was so adorable.

“Don’t worry about it Zayn, I’m alright.” I assured him walking toward my bedroom.

“Alright Rile, if you insist, go on, get dressed!” He joked, taking notice that I was still only wearing my robe.

I scoffed and shut my door. I walked over to my closet and pulled out a simple, body hugging dress with lace sleeves. I figured, I shouldn’t make it obvious that I’m trying to impress a certain somebody. So with that in mind, I grabbed a pair of gray pumps and put my outfit together. As for my hair, I just put a little texturizer and blow dried it for a couple of minutes, letting my natural waves seem more noticeable. I finished my makeup, nice and simple. Black liner, mascara and a sheer lip gloss. I grabbed my clutch and my keys and made my way downstairs.

“Ready to go?” I asked smiling at the boys who were sitting on my sofa. They were all dressed and looking attractive, Zayn especially.

They all replied with a collective “Yeah! Let’s go!” as they walked out my front door. All of them except Zayn.

I turned to look for him when I saw his face just staring at me. He made his way toward me and grabbed me by the waist to pull me a little closer and just held me for a couple of seconds before looking into my eyes and saying, “You look absolutely stunning, Rile.”

I was far too embarrassed to look him in the eyes, so I simply turned my head toward the floor and smiled. I was flattered of course, but it was embarrassing nonetheless.

We let go of the embrace, and walked out to meet the other boys. They were patiently waiting by my car, full knowing that Zayn and I had some sort of moment just seconds before.

Before they could say anything about it I unlocked the car so we could all get in, and I enthusiastically said, “Here we go!”

Their faces lit and as they seemed to forget about Zayn and I.

However about 5 minutes into the drive, my attempt of keeping the boy’s minds off of mine and Zayns delay had failed.

“So Riley, is Zayn a good kisser?” Harry bluntly asked with a playfully suspicious look upon his face.

“Ouch! I was just asking man.” Harry yelped in reply to Zayns little punch.

“Well, she can’t answer that, I haven’t kissed her.” Zayn answered for me, looking straight out the window.

“Yeah, not yet~” teased Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall in unison.

“We all know that you and - “

I immediately cut Louis off before he could finish his sentence by telling that that we’d arrived. It was already awkward enough. If Louis had finished that sentence, I’d have been overwhelmed with discomfort.

“We’re here! Everyone out, right now. Don’t want to waste any time to party!” I said sternly yet jokingly as I turned off the engine to the car.

Of course, a few of us weren’t old enough to go clubbing, but that wasn’t a problem. Everyone knew who my father was, all I had to do was mention my last name and I could get myself as well as at the most 10 other people inside. This was just one of the perks of being that daughter of a music producer. We got into the club with ease and I could already feel my heart pounding from the heavy bass. I walked in with 5 boys but next thing I knew I was only with 2!

“Yeah they tend to start right on.” Liam tried to tell me over the loud music.

“Oh well, I don’t blame them. Clubbing has it’s ups!” I said laughing and pointing at Niall who was already talking to a beautiful blonde who was clearly interested in him as well.

Liam chuckled as he went to go join Louis on the dance floor.

I turned around to talk to Zayn who was just sitting down quietly. He looked seriously upset.

I put my hand on his shoulder, “Zayn, are you alright?”

“Well, to be honest Riley, I was hoping that you’d skip out on the club scene tonight. I wanted to talk to you, you know. In a quiet place.” Zayn replied with the most honest look on his face.

“Oh, Zayn, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize.. I’m not in a clubbing mood, actually. I just thought you..um nervermind.” I said nervously.

He looked up in confusion. “Thought I was what, Riley?”

“Just, I thought you wanted to go so, I wanted to go too.” I confessed.

I saw his face light up with joy. He gently grabbed my hand and led my outside to my car.

Tonight was going to be unforgettable.
