BRIAN AND VALERIE had gotten into an argument over something so small. But at some point in the argument, Val felt that Brian wasn't committed to the blossoming relationship.Yes, it was silly for Valerie to think. Considering the relationship has barely started but something just made her want to push him away. To distance herself from him.
She was working at the shop like usual when Brian pulled up. Valerie looked for any excuse to avoid him so she bolted straight into Dom's little office and pretended she was looking for something important.
"Hey, Mia." Brian greeted. Mia looked up from her magazine. "Oh, hey Brian. Your usual?" Mia asked, closing her magazine. Brian shook his head, "Not today, is Val here?" He asked. Mia nodded and pointed behind her to Dom's office. Brian gratefully nodded before heading that way.
Standing by the door, Brian cleared his throat to try and catch Valerie's attention. "Busy! Mia can make your sandwich." She yelled as she had her head practically in one of the drawers attached to Dom's desk, praying he'd walk away from the door. "No thanks." He said, leaning in the door frame. "Dom's not here, try again tomorrow?" She said, now moving her attention to the next drawer below.
"Well, good thing I'm not here for Dom then." Brian smiled. Val could sense his smile from where she was, which made her shove her head more into the drawer to stop her from smiling as well. But after taking a deep breath, she finally closed the drawer and looked up at Brian. "What can I do for you, sir?" She questioned. Brian smiled once more.
"You can start by talking to me?" He suggested. Valerie wanted to talk to him but she didn't know what to say. After all, she was being dramatic about it. "You got any plans tonight?" Brian asked after Val stayed silent, she shook her head in response. "Good, I'll be over to pick you up around 10. I wanna show you something." Brian planned. Valerie tried to hide the blush that started to appear on her cheeks but it was no use. "Okay." She finally said. Brian smiled.
"Now, can I get that tuna sandwich?" He asked.
Valerie had no idea what Brian had planned. She didn't know what to wear. What not to wear. What to bring. He didn't give her any information which made her nervous. She settled on wearing a black dress with tiny flowers on it that Brian had gotten her. She then styled her hair half-up half-down with two strands of her hair laying on the sides of her face. She then heard a car pull up then seconds later, a knock at the door.
Closing her room door, she walked downstairs and opened the door to see Brian standing there with a bouquet of flowers. Nervously, Brian said, "Got you some flowers." With a smile on his face. Val gently took the flowers from his grasp, "Thank you Bri." She smiled before heading to the kitchen and putting them in a vase.
