The next day Katsuki seemed to be at his full normal self again. It was oddly comforting to Izuku considering the weird chaos of emotions the 2 had exchanged the other night both in his dorm and the next night about the reverse insults. Seeing Katsuki engage in conversation again with people and act cocky like he always did sort of put Izuku at ease. Sure the guy was rude and didn't care for anyone's feelings when spoken to but honestly, as long as he wasn't completely silent like he had been that one day, everything was fine. It really freaked Izuku out when Katsuki was silent.
Their routine proceeded like usual. Deku said good morning, Katsuki scoffed, they ignored each other and everything went normal. Except today, training wasn't before lunch. It was after lunch. Deku was right about the teachers saying training would be more. Instead of 1 hour it was 2. During the normal lunch hour, their geometry class was moved to that hour so everyone ate lunch during class as long as they paid attention. Today was a weird day that's for sure.
When everyone got into their hero suits that's when things went right back to strange ville. Izuku felt eyes on him again. He sighed and looked around for Katsuki. As soon as he found him, the boy looked away with a very agitated expression. What did he want now?
Everyone was outside and Aizawa had brought them to the floating island training grounds again. He paced back and forth like a military Sargent. He had a pen and clipboard and nodded a few times to himself as if the names on the paper were some sort of hidden message he had to decipher. Whatever was about to happen today seemed serious. He stopped and stood up straight as he stared into everyone's eyes with authority.
"Each group like last time. Pair up and I'll put you out 1 at a time rather than all at once. We have drones so everyone can watch from here where it's safe and also to analyze. Just like when you all first arrived, we will do heroes vs villains training like we did at Ground Beta. Simpler this time but still the same concept. We have dummies in the rocky building district over there where the villains have captured civilians. Retrieve the civilians without harming the area or people and still taking down the villains. If the heroes fail to do so, the villains win. I will put a 20 minute timer for each group. Bakugou, Kaminari, Midoriya and Kirishima. You're up first. Heroes are Bakugou and Kirishima. Villains are Midoriya and Kaminari. Play your parts and actually do your best to fulfill the missions. Now go"
Before anyone made a move, Katsuki was hunched over laughing hysterically. He didn't even bother trying to hold back. Tears coming from his eyes, wheezing. He was dying at what he'd just heard. "What's so funny Bakubro?? You good??" Kiri asked a little concerned at this odd behavior. Katsuki shoved him slightly and pointed to Izuku. "YOU REALLY THINK HE CAN PULL OFF A VILLAIN? JUST LOOK AT HIM!! AHAHAHAH!! His baby face is still there! He can't take this seriously!" He laughed some more and Deku's mouth flew open in offense. He huffed and stomped over to Katsuki defensively. "I can to pull this off!! I'll be a villain alright!!"
"HAHAHA SEE??" Aizawa rolled his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose with zero patience. "Just get over there before I banish you to the shadow realm." "Haha what?" Kiri smiled nervously but Aizawa used his straps to throw them all into that direction. They flailed but landed pretty softly on the ground since he didn't throw them high.
The 4 got up and awkwardly headed over there. Katsuki couldn't care less about the sting on his butt. He wiped the tears from his eyes, collecting his breathing as he kept thinking about a hopeless baby freckle face Deku attempting to be a villain. Izuku pouted and clenched his fists as he stomped beside Katsuki. "That was rude Kacchan!!" "As if I care. You know I'm right. You're such a hero nerd, there's no way you'd pull off being a villain. You don't even have a notebook on villains."
What?... wow he was right. How had Izuku not realized that?? He really doesn't have a notebook on villains. He doesn't know the first thing on how they think or their ambitions. The only contact he's had in terms of conversation with a villain was Stain and Shigaraki. Sure, Stain was a psycho out for blood and killed heroes but at least he had a real reason that was more understandable than other villains who were just full of blood lust.
