POV: Athena
Two Years Later
"Athena! Athena, I know you can hear me."
Hmph! I am not ready to wake up yet. I'm just getting into my deep sleep.
"Athena," the voice is getting aggressively louder, yet still has a motherly soft side to it.
Wait mothe-
"Athena, you're going to be grounded until you're actually in the ground if you don't get your butt up and downstairs. Your father and I need to have a discussion with you," my mother all but yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
How do I know that she's at the bottom of the stairs in my semi still sleep stage? Well because if she was up here, I probably would be on the ground after she gives me an hour lecture that kills me of boredom. Ohhh, on that note let me get up.
"Okay, I'm up. I'll be down soon" I try to say in a calm voice. I don’t want to make her any madder than she already would. She might do what she did last time I wouldn’t wake up. I shuddered even just thinking about it. It was horrible, one of the most terrifying things a mother can do to her child. She didn’t cook for me for a whole three days. I had to cook my own food. Don’t get me wrong, I can cook, but mom can cook a whole lot better.
After about twenty minutes of getting out of bed, I showered, dressed, and brushed my teeth. I’m walking downstairs, but before I can get to the last three steps, I hear my father yelling coming from my in his office that’s on the first floor of the three-story home. I started slowing down. I hate conflict, but I can hold my own when I need to.
What's going on? It must be serious if mom woke me up. I sometimes have a sleeping condition that keeps me up at night. It’s not insomnia, it’s because I am reading Wattpad. Okay, that’s a lie, not really because I do read the big W, Wattpad and Webtoon, but I do it because I have insomnia and can’t stay asleep all night long. It’s a good past time if I have nothing else to do, so, I rarely read them. Wait a minute why did it-
I stand there looking at my family looking at me. Sweet honey barbecue! I was obviously spacing out and not paying any attention to see that the door is now open and everyone is staring at me. Didn’t I just say tha-
“Athena just come in and shut the door,” my dad says looking at me with concern swirling in his eyes. He knows how I space out, but sometimes when I do I get pulled back into some dark memories, I keep trying to forget.
As I sit down, I recognize that it is not just my mom and dad, but a whole other family is here as well. People that I have a slight recall to, but not surely sure where from. When I remembered that I didn’t want them to be disgusted with me after knowing all I went through.
A.N.( I'm changing this part for those who had previously read it. I need a little spice to my story) sorry changing it again lol.
Just as I was about to ask what's going on. The man that you could obviously tell was the head of the family stood to his feet and said, “sweetheart, you’re coming back to where you rightfully belong.”
What?
