Chapter 1: cafe

Tuesday, 2:47pm

I walk back to my car, exhausted. I just finished my important work meeting that lasted a couple hours. I was able to text my friends during that time to hang out. I turned on my car engine, leaving my work and meeting where my friends and I usually meet at.

"hey guys!" I yelled as I got out of my car, pressing the car remote to lock it. "It's so hot out here! It's like 100 degrees!" Olivia said. "Okay Liv, don't act like you didn't plan to meet all of us here." Mateo replied. "What!? It wasn't me! It was y/n!" Liv yelled. "Why me!? It wasn't me! Liv I will screenshot the message you sent in the groupchat!" "Guys! Guys! Calm down," Aiden interferes. "Since we are all complaining, let's just go somewhere."

After finally deciding, we were able to choice to go to a small cafe, since their employees were able to make the best drinks and have cold a/c there.
We all got in to my car, fresh, cold a/c automatically turning on as I start the car. "That feels better!" Liv excitedly yells. Couple minutes later, i've realized that it was getting pretty quiet in the car, so I turned the radio on. Coincidentally, Billie Eilish's song.

"oh." I mumbled "damn," Liv said. "do you want me to change the radio?" she asks since she's sitting on the passenger. "no, it's okay, doesn't even matter since i've moved on from her." I replied, looking at her with a gentle smile, then back to focusing on the road. moments, we have arrived to the local small cafe. "We're here!" mateo yells excitedly as he leaves the car.

"so cozy in here." I told as soon as we got in. the cafe lights were very dim, making you feel like you want to live in that specific cafe forever. after we were able to order and get drinks, we sat on a small booth. After long talks and small laughs, everyone got quiet, all of us being on our phone.

"order for billie?" i quickly jumped up as I hear that name. I immediately recognize that blue, oceanic eyes, and yes, those eyes met mine. I quickly look away and Billie went back to her table which is coincidentally near mines. "oh shit, was that you're ex?" Aiden asks, as everyone was as surprised as I was. "This is not where I wanted us to meet!" I whisper-yelled as I put my head down in disappointment. I didn't know Billie had dyed her hair with green roots. I admit, it looked good on her, no, hot, hot on her. She was with someone, a girl.

Time passes by as I somehow forget that me and Billie looks at eachother. Honestly don't even know why I still care for her after all these years, and after what she did to me.

"y/n? can i talk to you?" I turn to Billie, suddenly appearing to me and my friends table. I panicked, not knowing what to do or reply. "sure." "privately?" she continued. "oh." I quickly turn to my friends as I look at them. They look back, giving me an awkward smile. "sure." I quietly follow Billie outside, her quickly walking up to my face, keeping the eye contact.

"Look," She starts, showing her soft, blue eyes. God, I hate her mesmerizing oceanic eyes. "to start off, i'm really sorry I cheated on you, i know you won't forgive me that fast, obviously, but i just want to say that i am really sorry and that i still care for you. cheating on you was the first thing i ever regretted. It was really selfish of me. hell, really selfish of me. youve been there for me for all these years and youve helped me go through my depression and really, you saved me from my attempt. And I was never there for you. Before I cheated, Ive never knew how much you cared and trusted me, and ive destroyed that. i'm really sorry and i know sorry won't help." honestly, that was the most kind hearted apology i have every heard. "Billie, it's okay. the past is the past. things happen. I moved on, i'm happy with my life," The last sentence hurt me a little, since I completely lied. "But, are you okay now, like, ever since?" I ask. "Yeah, I'm getting better now." "i'm glad you're getting better. haven't seen you, or talked to you ever since." I say softly with a smile. "Oh, and, I love you're hair, it really fits you. you know, the green roots and stuff." "thank you! I actually dyed it couple months ago." i stare at her mesmerizing face. her natural freckles, blue eyes, and her button nose. I admit, I do miss her face. "hey listen," i say, as i look down and sigh. "I want to still be friends you know? I still have your contacts. If you can text me and you know, I'd really appreciate it." I look up as I smile. "For sure. After all these years, I was scared to text you!" she smiles back. "lets head back inside?"

"so what happened???" Liv asks with a small smirk "ohmygod shut up." I say as i roll my eyes playfully. "we just wanna know!!" Aiden says. "ill tell you guys later!!"
