It had been a month since the world had ended, and Evangelina Greene hated every waking moment of it.

The dead were now roaming the earth and her father just thought of them as sick people, Evangelina had seen firsthand the dead eating the man she loved and him attempting to harm Elodie and Ezra.

Having to kill the man you love to stop him from eating your children will change you.

The family of now 3 hadn't left their home unharmed Ezra, now only had one ear courtesy of his now-dead father biting it off.

Evangeline had been woken up by her kids Elodie and Ezra bouncing on her bed.

"Mommy get up," Elodie says giggling as she continues jumping.

"I'm up baby," Evangeline says smiling at her kids.  "Let's go wake up Auntie Maggie!" Ezra says attempting to pull his mom out of bed. "Ok ok slow your roll," Evangeline said laughing getting out of bed.

Evangeline watches from the door as her kids try to wake up Maggie. "Angie get your gremlins," Maggie yelled for her sister while Ezra and Elodie continued to jump on her back.

"Let's go get breakfast then we can hang out with Uncle Otis," Evangeline says to her kids watching them go running back to the stairs to the table.

The whole family minus Maggie who slept in that morning sat at the table eating breakfast. "Glad to see you haven't left us today," Evangeline spoke and turned towards her uncle Otis.

Everyone at the table laughed knowing Otis had left her home on many occasions, it was rare that Evangeline even woke up on time.

"Yeah, Uncle Otis, we get to play with you today," Elodie said, her mouth full of food.

"Not today darling, I'm going hunting this morning." Otis girl pinching the young girl's cheeks playfully.

"Evie please chew your food before talking," Evangeline said to her daughter wiping the crumbs off her face.

"Yes, mommy."

Otis had left for his hunt while Everyone was finishing the rest of their breakfast till Hershel jolted up quickly from the old dining room wooden chair to the sounds of Maggie yelling.

Evangelina stood up quickly behind her father grabbing Elodie and Ezra following him to the sound of Maggie's yells.

Standing on the porch she watched a man carrying a small boy through tall grass in the field. The young man grunted and yelled as he quickened his pace towards the house.

The closer the man got made Evangelina realized the young boy was shot. "Daddy you'll need to get the full kit." Hershel nodded at his oldest child's words.

"What happened?" Hershel asks the sheriff.

"Shot, by your man." The man replied breathlessly. "Our man?" Maggie questions."

"Otis." Evangelina breathed out, "Otis?!" Patricia asked at the same time Angie had, both of the women standing next to each other in shock.

"He said find Hershel, is that you?" The man frantically asked. Hershel just stared at the man in shock.

"Help me- Help my boy!" The blue-eyed sheriff cried out.

Hershel leads the man inside and the rest of the family follows behind except Evangelina as she leads her kids to the living room.

"Stay here till me or Auntie Maggie come to get you ok?" Evangelina says looking at her children holding them close to her. "Yes, mommy." The twins spoke.
