"She is a Grammy award winning singer as of last night, please welcome Mia Ramirez". Ellen announced as Mia then walked onto the stage and smiled waving to the audience, who cheered and clapped for her. Mia then walked over to Ellen and hugged her as Ellen then hugged her back and they both sat down in their respective seats and started the interview.
"Congratulations on your win last night". Ellen said as Mia smiled and got situated in her chair.
"Aw, thank you". Mia said as the audience clapped and she smiled.
"Now, you are also known for acting in addition to singing and you starred in a movie for the Disney Channel called Camp Rock. Is that your first time acting?" Ellen asked Mia.
"Um, no". Mia answered.
"No?" Ellen questioned.
"No. That was Barney. I was on Barney when I was like, 6". Mia told her.
"You were on Barney when you were 6?" Ellen asked.
"Yes". Mia replied as pictures of her on the tv show called Barney appeared on the screen behind her. "Oh gosh. Yes, that's me". Mia said as she laughed at the pictures of herself.
"And where are you from? You're from a small town right?" Ellen asked.
"Uh, yes. I'm from Wyckoff, New Jersey". Mia answered smiling.
"And how many people are there?" Ellen asked.
Mia shrugged her shoulders as the audience and Ellen laughed. "I have no idea".
"You don't know?" Ellen asked chuckling.
"Not a clue". Mia answered.
"And how do you get Barney from living in New Jersey?" Ellen asked.
"Well, I have an aunt who worked on the set of Barney and they did some more, um, extras for like, this scene or whatever. And the pay was fairly good at the time some my aunt offered me and my parents were on board so I flew to where they were filming and I got on set and I guess I wasn't doing exactly what they wanted me to do or maybe the director just liked me, I don't know but next thing I know I'm in hair and makeup, I'm being fitted for all these different outfits and I am playing a character named Destiny Hope. So, I guess that's how". Mia said laughing as the audience clapped.
"So how did you get the Camp Rock role?" Ellen asked.
"Well, when I was 7 years-old I got discovered in a barber shop alongside Nick and um, this lady had suggested to my mom that me and Nick do Broadway. Which we eventually did. I got cast as the younger version of Nala in the Lion King and I really enjoyed doing that. So, when I was 10, I was signed to Columbia Records and I released my first album Dreams Come True through them. Obviously, that professional relationship didn't work out but when I was 13, Joe and I got a call from some people at Disney and they wanted us to audition for one of the three main roles of the movie known as Camp Rock and we did and everything just fell into place from there". Mia said as the audience clapped and she smiled.
"So did you do commercials and stuff like that?" Ellen asked.
"Yeah, I've done a lot of commercials. I did the whole McDonald's and Burger King, and Wendy's commercials where I smile in the camera as I get a fry. You know, totally unrealistic stuff but you know, I got a free meal out it so..." Mia said as the audience laughed.
"And so you live here now?" Ellen asked.
"Yes". Mia responded.
"Is it totally different than Jersey, do you miss Jersey?" Ellen asked.
"I miss Jersey a lot". Mia answered. "I miss everyone in Jersey. It's definitely hard being away from my family and close friends but I call some of them almost everyday so that's a little bit better but I do miss Jersey". Mia admitted.
Mia and Ellen continued on with the interview which resulted in Ellen giving Mia some gifts and ending the interview with her telling the audience to go see her upcoming tour and to stay tune for more guests.
