Paxton and Maeve have been childhood best friends since diapers. They shared everything together. Every memory, thought, snack, ext. Atlas is Paxtons best friend since high school and they even went through long-distance college like it with a relationship. Maeve never really accepted Atlas as a "friend" but more as someone she knows. She doesn't let new people into her life and especially doesn't let them tell her what to do. She won't let anyone control her. She doesn't let anyone above her because of her past. When she was younger she was basically the leader of her family besides her dad. She had all her little brothers below her and her older brothers respected her. Her mom had died due to her father trying to put her back in her place and making the point that "He's on top." She never bothered to argue with her father because he was the alpha. Paxton is the only one who knows about her past trauma and she likes to keep it that way.
