Jess wakes up to the covers feeling glued to her. She moves around, cursing, but they stick to her like a thin lego piece on another lego piece. As she struggles to get out of bed, she doesn't notice she's getting dangerously close to the edge. With one quick jerk to the side as a last attempt to get the covers off, she falls off the bed and lands on her shoes that she put there last night.

"Ow"

Jess stays there for a bit to see if she woke anyone up. She didn't hear anyone so she assumed she was safe. She starts to struggle again with more mumbled profanities, but it does nothing except for messing up her already messy hair. Finally too tired to continue the fight with her blankets, Jess just lays there on the floor, and then they detach. Jess admittedly gets out of the blankets, not wanting to get stuck again.

"What the fuck was that?" Jess asks the blankets as if they would respond. She decides to play it off as a prank that Mariah and Yareli did. She walks into the bathroom, looks into the mirror and feels something off. She continues looking. Then it hits her like truck-kun hits people in anime.

She's taller.

Not just taller though. She can see without her glasses. She stares in the mirror for a little longer, admiring her height and better eye sight. She then tries to take off her PJs so she can change but they stick to her hands.

"DAMMIT!" She shouts.

She rough houses with her shirt and backs up against the wall. While trying to stay balanced she places her foot on the wall. Without meaning to, she places her other foot on the wall as well. She places one foot behind the other, one step at a time and is eventually on the ceiling. With one last yank she gets the shirt off and lets it drop to the floor. Jess stares at the shirt for a bit trying to process why the shirt went up instead of down. She looks around and sees everything upside down, then she looks at her feet and sees they're sticking to the ceiling.

"What. The. FUCK."

Jess slowly starts to make her way towards the floor again. When she does she plops down on the toilet to rethink life. She thinks back to yesterday at the lab and what the teacher had said.

"Don't want one of you getting bit by something they're working on and end up with superpowers or something."

Shit! Did I get super powers from a spider?! Jess thinks. Damn my thoughts are kinda loud.

She thinks about all the good she can do and the people she can help and smiles. Today's gonna be a good day. She gets up, takes a step towards the door of the bathroom, but slips on her discarded shirt and falls into the shower. She gets up again, watching for any other discarded clothing, and walks out to get her forgotten clothes that she was going to change into.

Mariah wakes up to a smell coming from the kitchen that smelled absolutely heavenly. Jess's cooking, she thinks. She sits up in bed and puts her glasses on but her eyes start watering due to everything being too blurry. What? I just got new prescriptions. She takes them off and realizes she can see perfectly fine without them.

"Hm, finally got my dad's vision, but how?"

She still likes the glasses though. She's been wearing them since third grade and she has a tan line on her face now that makes her look like a reverse racoon. She takes the glasses in both hands and proceeds to try and take the lenses out. She wasn't expecting it to work-mostly because she was just skin and bone with almost no meat-so she was surprised when they popped off with no problem. In fact, she might've been a little too hard because the lenses popped off and flew across the room and embedded themselves in the wall.
