The next day at Abby's house, which was on South Hibiscus Drive and was nearly 7,160 square feet with 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms Abby was relaxing in the living room and was watching TV as the time was 8:30 pm when her phone rang and she saw that Mario was calling and answered.
"Hey, Mario. How's it going? Doing research on the next competition? That's good. Who's going to be there?! You're kidding! Oh, thanks for letting me know." Abby sighed as she hung up. "Ay Yi Yi."
At the studio a day later, Chloe, Brooke, Paige, Christi, Kelly, the moms and girls were in Studio A with Abby and Mario. Also in Studio A was Brynn and Ashlee, who was a part of the team several weeks back and in addition, Brynn had been a member of the studio and she was taking classes.
"We have Brynn traveling with us this week." Abby said as Brynn nodded. "Brynn, we brought you here to Miami Beach because you're an Abby dancer. You've got the legs, you've got the feet. We think you have it all. But however, the wherewithal and the education isn't there and we think you can learn that here."
Pyramid went by with Nia, JoJo and Mackenzie on the lower level, Kendall and Maddie were on the middle level and they wished Kendall a Happy Birthday and Kalani was on the top. Abby signaled for Mario to let everybody know where they would be going.
"This week, we will be traveling to Wayne, New Jersey to attend Sheer Talent." Mario announced as everybody applauded. "And you'll never guess who's going to be there."
"Who?" The girls asked.
"We'll give you a hint, hick from Ohio."
"You mean Cathy?!" Kelly exclaimed in surprise, Christi was surprised as well.
"That's the one." Abby said. "Mario informed me yesterday that Cathy will be there when he did some research on the competition."
"Somehow, Cathy must have something up her sleeve as we hadn't seen the Rotten Apples since Nationals last season." Holly predicted.
"You got a point there, Holly." Melissa told her.
"Jess, JoJo, Ashlee, Brynn, you are about to get a firsthand glimpse on how we put up with Cathy and also this'll be your first time facing Cathy's rotten apples. My Mom, Holly, Kira, Jill, Christi, Kelly have all been through it so many times." Mario commented.
"That they have." Abby stated. "Back to business, my first solo will go to Maddie and it's named Vertigo. I also want to mention with the solo, that you have a reputation to uphold because the Chandelier video was a piece of art and i'm proud to let everybody know that it's been nominated for four Grammys."
Everybody applauded and they were so happy for Maddie. She also knew Mario had won a few Grammys.
"Your brother's won a few Grammys himself and he once beat Beyonce for Album Of The Year. We're going to the Grammys!" Abby exclaimed, high fiving Maddie. "All right, shifing gears, My next solo will be going to our new guest, Brynn and it's called Diamond In The Rough. That's what we think you are. The group is called Dance in The Rain and we used that term a lot here in Miami Beach as it rains at times. We cannot wait for the storm to pass. We dance in the rain. Mackenzie, Nia, you're both national title winners at Sheer Talent and you have to bring your crown and banner."
"Abby, don't look now and no disrespect, but it looks like we've got a sourpuss." Mario told Abby, referring about Nia who had a sour look on her face as Holly was not happy Mario called Nia a sourpuss.
"Thanks for pointing that out." Abby told him. "Nia, you aren't gonna bring your crown? If you don't want to, don't ever ask to go into another title again."
"Abby, why would you say that to Nia?" Holly questioned.
"I saw the look on her face when Mario pointed out." Abby responded.
